  1. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) Yes I would say you were tolerant. I would also repeat what the very fair Budweiser said. " if a white guy said, I am not going to let no black boy beat me" , he would 100% be hated by blacks and there would be uproar by all the white people who want to be seen as being extremely PC.
  2. Re: Tyson over rated You seem to be a bit of a bully and hypocrite tbh.One of these guys whose whole life is spent on forums trying to force his opinions and relish his status as a moderator. You are treading a thin line, behave! The_budweiser You don't like a boxer and you unashamedly criticise him in every way possible, yet if someone has the audacity to make a point about a boxer you admire, you hate it. I rated no one above him, and didn't know that I was required to do so. You say I focus on the degraded Tyson, I clearly don't, yet it is ok for you to focus on the degraded Holyfield. The one who the ring magazine said wouldn't last one round with Tyson, yet destroyed him without running, like Leonard is accused of doing in the Hagler fight. You make excuses for Tyson, not having his HOF team with him, yet one of that HOF team Teddy Atlas told the world that Mike was a bully, who didn't like it when the going got tough, and that he was mentally weak. Well anyone who knows boxing will tell you, that is a terrible trait to have, and one with that, could never be a truly great boxer. Again though, you ignore Holyfields illnesses, heart condition, bad shoulder, hepatitis, etc, nor did you give him credit for his massive effort in winning a fifteen round world title after only 11 fights, and having his lungs collapse. Tyson never dug that deep, every time he went down, he stayed down. Should have been dq'd against Savarese, Botha and Ruddock (continuous low blows) but hey, he sold tickets, so it wasn't going to happen. He didn't even get dq'd for biting part of Evanders ear off! He did it again, after being told, "one more time and you are out of here" to which he jumped at the chance, of getting out of there, before he was knocked out of there. You ask what was my point? My point was that Tyson was overrated. Not good enough reason to start a topic of conversation? I did not deny that Tyson took the world by storm did I? That makes my point even more relevant. Why did he take the world by storm? He beat a few bums easily, just like Bruno, Wilder, Benn and many others did. But when he stepped up, he was nothing remotely close to what the world had come to expect. Tillis lasted ten rounds with a young Tyson when he was washed up, yet Witherspoon put away a peak Tillis in one round. He struggled with James Smith, yet Bruno won every round against Bonecrusher until he got ko'd. I think I will avoid your posts, as you seem to hate people I admire, admire people I do not, and are abrupt and a know it all, with no tact at all.
  3. Re: Greatest Cruiserweight Fight Of All Time? Sorry, I am lost as to why he is known to you as pink?
  4. Re: Greatest Cruiserweight Fight Of All Time? You meant horses FOR courses, and Toney was not best at cruiser, his best was at middleweight. Valuev paid not to KO him? Not a chance, and a ridiculous thing to say. Holyfield won that fight and was robbed of the chance of becoming the only five time heavyweight champ. Just like he was robbed in the Olympics and docked points for a low blow against Ruiz, that should have been scored as a legit body shot knockdown.
  5. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) Yes it was 100% racist mate. Seems there is always a massive double standard about racism that white people have to accept but black or Asians would riot over. Where I live, Asians applied for an Asian only swimming bath and gymnasium, but if a white person opened one and said whites only, it would be burnt down.
  6. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) Absolutey spot on mate.
  7. Re: Definitive world championship boxing Is there a price list I missed?
  8. Tyson has numerous fans, and I will get hate from this post, but those in the know, will agree with a lot of what I am saying. Really he was not as great as people think. He looked great knocking out guys he was supposed to knock out, but struggled against anyone who could counter, or box and move, or anyone who wasn't scared of him. Did he ever win a fight he wasn't supposed to win? Did he ever come back from a knockdown to win? Did he ever avenge a defeat? Did he ever foul? Was he a great role model as the world champ? Teddy Atlas descibed Mike as a bully and that he was mentally weak, not great material for coming through tough fights. He loved it when he was getting away with low blows against Ruddock, trying to break Bothas arm, trying to hit Tubbs one more time, even though he was clearly out, trying to hit Savarese even though the fight was already over, and gloating how he made Biggs squeal like a girl etc etc, but then tried to butt Holy, and cried to the ref that HE was being butted. This is the guy who laughed in an interview that he liked to hurt women. He was short and this would normally mean he would be a good infighter, but as the Smith fight showed, he was not. He was fast and hit hard, but never knocked any top contenders out cold, they were usually stopped by the ref, even a guy with a very poor chin like Carl Williams, was still on his feet. Pinklon Thomas was a drug addict and Tyson hit him with massive shots one after the other, but he still got up. Don't want to upset anyone, but this is my opinion.
  9. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? Tony Ayala v Duran. What a pair of animals!
  10. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? Julian Jackson v Hearns
  11. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? How can you post if it says you are banned?
  12. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? Pryor v Leonard
  13. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? McGuigan v Nelson
  14. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? Peak Pazienza vs the Camacho that fought Limon
  15. Re: Greatest fights that didn't happen but should have? Foreman v Holmes. I would have picked Larry
  16. Re: Greatest Cruiserweight Fight Of All Time? Could you see Carl Thompson beating a young Holyfield?
  17. Re: Greatest Cruiserweight Fight Of All Time? Be fair Qawi was a very good fighter, two weight champ before all these belts and extra weight categories were added, plus those were the days of 15 rounders. Also Holyfiled only had 11 fights and had fought no one. In the rematch he got a clean ko, whereas in his very next fight the 5ft 7 Qawi moved up to fight the much bigger Foreman, who could not ko him. Also Holy was obviously not himself when Toney easily stopped him. If you look at the ko, he goes down from nothing, yet was able to go two whole fights with Lewis, and took much more punisment off people like Bowe, Tyson, Foreman, Cooper, Dokes and even Qawi. He seemed to give up against Toney, and it is not that he wasn't in fatboys league. If Sanderline Williams can get a draw, a peak Evander would have annihilated him. Toney got gift decisions over Dave Tiberi and twice over an old McCallum, lost twice to Montell Grifin and another was Drake Thadzi, plus twice to Sam Peter which again indicates, he got lucky to fight a very off form Holy. Circumstances often dictate outcomes, and looking at the guys who beat Toney, whether he got a gift decision or not, clearly proves that. Also most pro athletes take performance enhancing drugs and/or stimulants, it is just that they often don't get caught, and at the end of the day, he was still a light heavy in the olympics and fought as light as 1lb over the light heavy limit as a pro, so to get in there with Valuev, Foreman, Bowe, Lewis etc and do well, was still a great acheivement.
  18. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) God I hate this guy!
  19. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) Well said, nuff said.
  20. Re: Hopkins in farewell fight (Spoilers) Now THAT is what I am talking about! Man knows what he is talking about! Also a racist, and boring f#cker whilst we are at it.
  21. Re: Member of the Year 2016 - Your vote is needed How much is that in bhat?
  22. Re: Chris Eubank Jr is to headline ITV Box Office in 2017 I don't understand why boxing is nearly always pay per view. Surely if you pay for sky sports, it should be broadcast on there. Even Ali and Tyson were shown on free tv.
  23. Re: Is the heavyweight division about to become boring again? Yes those last three weren't good opponents, but that is the norm after a lay off. Very few ever come back after retirement straight into top class fights. Look at who Foreman fought and Briggs. The debate was whether or not the heavies were boring or not, and Haye is certainly not boring....unless fighting Klitschko that is.
  24. Re: Is the heavyweight division about to become boring again? I think you misunderstood iamasadlittleboy Bud. He was saying that the heavies were and still are boring, and that is a lot to do with Wlad. I personally think there are some good fights to be made at the moment, with Joshua, Wilder, Haye, Ortiz, Parker, Briggs, Ruiz, even Browne and Whyte are quite exciting brawlers. Whyte v Chisora was a great fight.
  25. Re: Is the heavyweight division about to become boring again? LOL Good one pal. But it seemed Bud did, when he listed current heavies in the mix.
