Small guys from Japan or Mexico move over the divisions quickly, but idea of such a challenge apparently doesn't cross Moonsri's mind.

Re: Tank to rollover Tenshin? It's going to give 'em tons of money. Japanese are crazy about Tenshin. Such fights seem like a return of oldschool Pride/K-1 era where fights that didn't matter including ones like Bob Sapp and Akebono brought the biggest ratings there.

Re: March 15th in Philly. Card headlined by Tevin Farmer vs Jono Carroll. It looks like an easy one for Farmer. Last Carroll's draw was quite controversial. He looked nice at the beginning of the fight, but gassed out quickly.

Re: Manny vs Broner - Jan 19 2019 @ MGM Grand Finally have watched that and I'm so pissed off with how bad this matchmaking was. Broner didn't try to do anything and landed one good punch through 12 rounds. Guy hasn't beaten any top fighter since he moved out of 135 and he still headlines the PPV event? Bullshit fight.

It looks like a very good match-up, but it's not talked about much. Rivas hasn't fought anyone worth of note as a pro, but is undefeated and has a good amateur background. Jennings is still tricky and experienced fighter, even though he's hardly mentioned among top contenders anymore. Who's your favorite?

It looked like a nice fight between two undefeated boxers to start a new year in boxing. I think that Devin is a nice prospect. He's surely good at defensive game, but also has moment when he pushes the action well. He didn't succeed at knocking Ndongeni out, but he hurt him few times. Guy's just 20, so I think he'll have a nice career.

Re: Charlo twins/Barclay results I think that Charlo v Harrison was actually quite a close fight. I even had Tony ahead 5-4 after 9 rounds. Harrison fought a disciplined fight, his jab was really crisp (less so in the later rounds) and landed some decent counters. Charlo wasn't doing anything special to me. Nevertheless, Harrison was clipped with good shots in last rounds and as a result I had Jermell winning it 7-5. It was shocking to hear the final outcome, especially the unanimous decision. I had Jermall winning his fight 7-5 as well. Korobov was ahead 4-0 after 4 rounds, but in the latter parts he was too passive with his work and Charlo edged almost all the other rounds for me. I only gave the 11th for the Russian. 119-108 card is crazy.

Re: R.I.P. Al Certo-Fighter/Manager/Cutman Extraordinaire I've always remembered him as a controversial figure in a boxing world. He surely had that old-school mentality as he didn't want to let Golota quit against Tyson in a civilized way. Instead we got this unnecessary scuffle and Andrew was scorned as a coward, even though he was clearly injured and quitting was the safest option. I'm not here to judge his whole life, though. RIP.

Boxing fans, let's have a honest conversation about this guy. I have some sympathy for him. I don't think that he's a cheat. He probably tries to do good, but he's had so many terrible calls during his career that it's safe to say that he's not qualified to work as an official. His scorecard from last weekend's Walsh v Bellotti fight proves that he doesn't know what's going on in the ring. His remarkable card from Vargas v McDonnell was also among the worst I've seen as well. You can probably find a lot of more bad scores from him. His work as a referee is also controversial. He was involved in the worst premature stoppage I've seen in Maccarinelli v McKenie I, but on the other hand allowed Shannon Briggs to be almost killed against Klitschko in one of the most one-sided 12 rounders I've seen. I don't mean that he's bad all the time. There where fights where I honestly liked his work. But, the mistakes he's made are unexcusable. He's like a guy who drives you for an hour and everything's OK, but starts doing some weird crap in the first difficult situation. I wouldn't probably be as much interested in him, but British boxing elites cherish him to the point that there's a book about him! Barry Hearn's quote on the cover is both hilarious and sad at the same time. Honestly, I can think of only one British official that annoyed me more. Anyone remembers Paul Thomas? He was a guy that travelled around the Europe and as a judge he always had it for the home-town guy no matter what happened in the ring. Crowd's reaction to his Dimitrenko v Chambers scorecard is absolutetly amazing :lol:

I've watched this South African boxer on Mchunu v Oosthuizen II undercard. He completely dominated Miguel Vasquez, known from being a tricky fighter. He also TKOd Diego Chavez few months earlier, even if the guy is past-prime. 15 wins with 12 KOs look decent and I think we should look forward to him. I've finally found time to watch this one. Nobody cares about this fight? It proves that Arum's managment of Ramirez' career lacks something ;-) It still looked fine on the paper as the previous fight was quite good. This time we got close majority decision (114-114, 2x 115-113) for the defending champ. Hart looked like he felt robbed. I think that this is a proper decision, though. Until the 8th, I didn't see any clear round for Hart. At best there were some close rounds with Hart starting good, but being too passive in the second half. I had it 6-1 for Ramirez, but American pushed the action in the latter parts. I had it just 6-5 for the Mexican before the last one. Ramirez hurt his hand, but still outgunned Hart in the 12th. He got buzzed by the best punch of the round in the last seconds, though. I scored this one 10-10, which I rarely do. The final score was 115-114 for Ramirez. Nice fight, but both boxers failed to impress me with anything big.

Re: General Boxing (worth mentioning, not thread worthy) I've just noticed his replacement. Korobov was really a top prospect until the loss against Lee. He still was winning this one fairly comfortably and he beat Uzcategui in a good fight. He has failed to impress since, mostly because of his lack of punch power. Maybe he can be somehow competitive against Charlo, though? Skills are still there, but suspicious chin may be an issue against hard hitting American.

Re: WBSS II Kaputsky? They've made some crazy-ass decisions like setting fights up in some weird locations. It must've costed them some money. SMW Final in Saudi Arabia surely was a cry for financial help. Making 3 tournaments in the 2nd decision was a risky decision and it'd be a huge blunder if they mess this up. I've always had doubts about supposed financial "success" of WBSS taking lack of lucrative TV deals into consideration,

Re: Wilder vs Fury - this weekend - Who Wins? I had it 114-112 for Fury. 115-111 for Wilder is a crappy card, but draw is excusable. Big credit for Jack Reiss as I wouldn't held it against him if he stopped it in the final round. Fury looked absolutely out of the place on the canvas. Fury obviously dominated most of the fight, but I think that he lost 3 out of last 4, including two 10-8 rounds. 2nd and 4th round also could've been scored for "Bronze Bomber". Wilder proved his power, but technically is no competition for "Gypsy King". He still found holes in Fury's defence, though. Wonderful fight and this last round was surely a moment of the year.
