  1. Goodnight MTK..... So what are all these 200+ boxers gonna do now!?
  2. Spence vs Ugas and Fury vs Whyte the bookmakers put the odds very similar for both fights. Tyson Fury - 2/9 Dillian Whyte - 4/1 Draw - 45/1 Errol Spence Jr - 2/9 Yordenis Ugas - 9/2 Draw - 22/1 Anyone else think these odds are a) too close for Fury/Whyte...and b) too winde for Spence/Ugas?Spence vs Ugas and Fury vs Whyte the bookmakers put the odds very similar for both fights.
  3. What happened to the Kinahan thread Selij? Pretty big news it seems. A lot of boxers and personnel within media/social media will need a new hand that feeds them. Be interesting to see how it plays out. EDIT I have bumped it Ton-WSM 64
  4. Dinu folds as soon as Dubois lands anything half decent, again. Interesting to see how Dubois comes back from defeat and that eye damage.
  5. Haha imagine that, BJS pulls out and we get Ryder fed to the beast instead. I think everything is cleared now, the fight should go on. I don't think it will be a very exciting fight. Hoping Canelo finds an effective way to cut down the ring and find his target. BJS is in the mould of a tricky fighter like Lara and Mayweather, though obviously not on that level, and could cause Canelo some issues. But he is a much mroe improved fighter than back in those 2 fights, so we shall see.
  6. Ummmm, probably give that one a miss I think :D
  7. More than 1 round this time. But still a stoppage win.
  8. Shame because his talent is supreme....he could be an absolute superstar but it really looks like he will go the way of troubled boxer who couldn't shake his background and surroundings.... I don't hold up much hope for a successful Davis future, though for me, he is the most talented of all those boys in and around that lightweight division.
  9. Not sure I would call the division "stacked" in the same way you'd call the lightweights to welters stacked with legitimate pound 4 pound calibre players. Heavyweight is still truly void of elite boxers BUT it is becoming competitive underneath Fury/AJ with a lot of intruiging match ups potentially in the pipeline. From Cables nicely put together list you'd imagine 90% of them will not attain to much.... I wasn't impressed with Fa's happiness to have reached the bell and lose on points. He was way too happy with that. No chance he does much in the division. Yoka will get battered when he steps up. I'm actually really unsure who comes up after AJ/Fury to be a dominant force. Usyk might well do the business but is older than AJ/Fury so will likely be out of the picture before or around the same time as them... Joyce also doesn't have time on his side..... Dubois I am not so sure will quite be the same with the bad eye injury....
  10. The longer it takes to make the more it favours Joshua I feel, unless they decide to have it Fury down the line and each have a fight in the meantime for Fury to get into some shape. IF, and it's still a huge if for me this fight gets made, we have Taylor-Ramirez signed, and my guess would be Canelo beats Saunders then fights Plant later in the year....it could be the year of undisputed champions!
  11. And Eubank almost got Billy out of there late in that fight. Think BJS could probably run and keep Canelo off him for 4-5 rounds, but Canelo will go up a gear and get to him. Might go later into the fight but would expect him to force a stop to the contest.
  12. Canelo should manage to cut off the ring from Billy on his bike and smash him up!! Hopefully into oblivion, forever!! Kate was looking spectacular as ever!
  13. Ahh okay....think I have heard the 9 months defence thing before, but I am sure they don't strictly enforce it. The body will pick and choose how to enforce the rules based on who the belt carrier is. Essentially, who cares, it's all a shit show anyway!!
  14. WHAT!? Is that one of their rules? Barely any of the word champions fight twice a year, never mind every 3 months! Surely that isn;t right?
  15. I've not said he definitely won't improve....and even said I hope my inkling is wrong. I'm just more inclined to think he won't go on to be some special talent, even given that he has age on his side.
  16. I'd thought last year there was a deadline for Wilder to have agreed for the rematch clause and it wasn't done or something? Was that not the case then? That's an interesting one!!
  17. Valdez, not really given much chance by most beforehand (I, myself favoured Berchelt to eventually get to him later rounds), he fought a great fight!! He boxed smart, waiting for the telling shots and made them count! An absolutely perfect timed finish, it was worrying to see Berchelt laid out for a time but he is seemingly all okay! A great, great win for Valdez and very well earned respect from fight fans hopefully! Onwards and upwards!
  18. And he still has a somewhat questionable record to date, isn;t some kind of highly touted Mexican talent....they are already out of the woodwork before 20 fighters if they are regarded as potentially great boxers. They've stepped into US soil and are being showcased on undercards. I really hope you're right here by the way. It would be great if he takes this opportunity to work on his craft, make improvements where needed and can blast through some of the contenders in the division. But, realistically, all signs point to Lara beingone of these tough guys with a big punch who managed to get the job done on a night where things went perfetly for him! We see it time and again, but we also see them fade out. It happened at a lower level with Khan when Prescott wiped him out. He went on to become a journeyman into the double digits in losses. Kiko Martinez exploded onto the scene when he knocked out Dunne in a round, and while he remained a dangerous opperator and still is, he is somewhat of a journeyman gatekeeper to the division. I'd be very surprised if Lara didn't follow this well trodden path, but I do hope you're right!
  19. I wouldn't have thought he's made anywhere near enough money to have such a long lay off! No fucker will remember who he is two years down the line. I don't think he's someone who suddenly is the next big thing. He just got in there and blasted Warrington out. His limited abilities will be exposed when he meets anyone else half decent who doesn't get into a gun fight. His smart move is the move quickly onto 1 or two big paydays while his name is still hot. Even if he was to lose his next big fight, the Warrington win should still give him some sizzle to have another big fight before it fizzles out and he carries on fighting in Mexico, low key. That's how this tale is going to go.
  20. More pressure by an Irish MP.... https://www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/56092035
  21. Has to be one of the bigger upsets in recent years, maybe even decades! Fair play to a few in this thread who stated Lara probably shouldn't be overlooked.
  22. Be interesting to keep an eye on this one!
  23. But this was back in December....and isn't he holed up in Saudi? How are they going to batter his door down if he's in hiding over there, unless they go in undercover?
  24. Plenty of coverage and viewership on this seemingly! A lot of people going with the "so what, boxing has always been corrupt" viewpoint but this is next level stuff. It's not just a bunch of bullys threatening to break someones legs if they don't take a dive. They are killing people left right and center. I bet Fury and Kinahan wish Tyson never used his name so prominantly in that video he posted. Ultimately what does this documentary apart from expose the existence of a mob box within the sport? His role as "advisor" is a personal matter and thus nothing anyone within boxing can do about it. Kinahan will remain in his spot. Promotors will have no option but to do business with him on behalf of the likes of Fury and Billy Joe Saunders who seem to worship him. Only the authorities will be able to get rid of the cartel, if they manage to make a conviction stick.
