BoztheMadman
Thomas "Tommy Gun" Oosthuizen (22-0-2, 13 kos), the former IBO super middleweight champ has moved up to 175 and is facing the hot and hard punching prospect Eleider Alvarez (13-0, 8 kos) of Colombia on 18th January. While he has fought at this weight before, for the "youth" title, that was in 2009 and this is his first "real" fight and a test at 175. Has Alvarez a chance at upsetting the undefeated South African? Oosthuizen is the taller man by four inches but Alvarez is the puncher here, so I don't see this being an easy fight for "Tommy Gun". Still, in his last fight against faded Edison Miranda, Alvarez didn't exactly impress and failed to put away the man Bellew managed to put away. I see Oosthuizen surviving a couple shaky moments to take a points decision.
