Wheelchair
Should Hagler have moved up to Light-Heavyweight and taken on the Undisputed Champion Michael Spinks? Is his place in boxing history less than it might have been based on his failure to meet another champion in a higher weight class? Or is it of no consequence? Looking back to years past you had fighters like Emile Griffith, Ray Robinson, Dick Tiger, Henry Armstrong, Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Michael Spinks, Evander Holyfield all successfully moving up in weight and capturing another title. Of course there were many failures too including Bob Foster and Jose Napoles to name a couple. Personally I think Hagler-Spinks would have been an interesting matchup given Spinks unbeaten record and solid punch at 175lbs. Your thoughts? Obama
There's a reason Hagler never left the MW division. There was a reason his best opponents at MW were all guys moving up in weight, and guys like Kalambay got over looked. The Jinx was one of the greatest LHWs of all time. And there's no chance Hagler could do any better than Qawi did, who simply could not close the gap to win the fight.
