Ton
Looking at the two opponents you'd think they'd be fighting the other "name" fighter. But here we go. There could be some clever logic in the Fury team targeting the WBO number 2, in that he could be a forced madatory for Joshua's WBO strap? :noidea:
selij
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam There could be some clever logic in the Fury team targeting the WBO number 2 I've said as much in other threads, never underestimate Uncle Bob's team for guile. LondonRingRules
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam --- Well, Shwarz is 41st on boxrec, well within the target range the ABCs use artistic license to forulate their rankings. However, the fight has yet to be added as their upcoming. Maybe next week a different opponent will be, ya never know! http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/655566
WelshDevilRob
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam Have read it's Schwarz. He has a Top 5 ranking, so, fits the bill. Young and beat Gashi (Chisora's next opponent), in a bit of a foul fest. Tom is only 24, so a fight with Fury is too soon - though he may never be ready - has been matched soft. Cableaddict
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam Schwarz has never even fought outside of Germany. We all know what THAT means. This is a joke.
Gerald
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam Arum reportedly now suggesting Fury won't pursue Wilder fight until February 2020... Interesting thought that Fury taking WBO mandatory route also forces Joshua's hand. Hearn has been casting doubt on that thought by saying that the WBO mandatory gets only 30% which is less than the 40% he was already offered. But Hearn also knows that Arum probably won't actually force the mandatory but just use it as part of the leverage in negotiations for better terms. robprosser
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam Usyk-Takam is an interesting one. For a heavy Takam throws a lot of punches but is on the small side. Wide decision to Usyk would be my guess.
BoztheMadman
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam I can't even be arsed to say anything about that first fight than-:mnuts: I like the second fight but Takam is by now a spent force, so Usyk wins rather easy. WelshDevilRob
Re: Fury to face unbeaten Tom Schwarz, Usyk to go against Takam I've no problem with Usyk's choice. Takam isn't a big Heavyweight and Oleksandre is moving up - seems the right fight.

Takam isn't a big Heavyweight and Oleksandre is moving up - seems the right fight. Agreed. It's actually a very good fight. Let's hope Takam is highly motivated, and isn't just looking for a near-retirement paycheck. He needs to be super-trim and mobile, like he was against AJ. AJ had that huge reach advantage, and used it well to control Takam, but Usyk will have a 2.5" reach DIS-advantage. If Takam can use his jab consistently, keep up a very high output and not gas, he could possibly win a bunch of early rounds. That would force usyk to be more offensively aggressive, and THAT might open up a few opportunities for Takam to land. And let's face it, if nothing else, Takam can bang. But if Takam enters the ring at 254 lbs or more, like he was in his last fight, then it will likely be a very boring UD win for Usyk.
