Far more value in Joshua v Parker betting than what many think

It’d be bout number 21 of the 6’6” English heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s pro career when the Londoner steps into the ring against the Kiwi champion Joseph Parker, on March 31 in Cardiff, UK. While the former is the WBA (Super), IBO and IBF titleholder, the latter won the WBO World title in 2016.

A large number of off-line and online bookmakers are offering interesting betting options for this upcoming bout. In fact, if you too are planning to bet on this fight, you must definitely make use of these Joshua Parker free bet opportunities and increase your winning chances.

Joshua is a huge favourite

If Joshua gets the better of Parker, which he’s expected to, the Brit would walk out with another belt around his waist that night, and will come closer to unification of all the heavyweight titles. Thereafter, Joshua would need to beat Deontay Wilder, the American boxer, to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. He is being backed by punters everywhere to go all the way, but should remember that nothing comes for free.

While he successfully defended his title scoring 10th round TKO win over Carlos Takam some time ago in Cardiff, the latter only had few weeks to prepare for the fight, and hence had many people raised their eyebrows when Joshua somehow battled his way to victory in the end. Many people believed that Carlos deserved to go on till the final round.

This is another fight, and one more win within-the-distance would keep everyone happy as no one would check the judges’ cards too.

It’s interesting to see how punters and experts would see things going in the method of victory market. No one likes a blink-and-miss kind of fight, unless you have placed a 9/2 bet for the bout to end within the first 2 rounds. There would be plenty of power on display in this fight, so things are surely expected to go beyond the second round.

After huge returns?

In case you’re after huge returns, why not go after the earthshattering 40/something on Joshua to knockout Parker within 60 seconds from the start! Although a long shot, it’s a possibility nevertheless! If you wish to tone things down a bit, go after a well-priced favourite bet by backing Joshua to win through a TKO or KO at 2/5.

British fans are highly confident that their champ is well on course to take on the other Brit Tyson Fury in another winner-takes-all battle, provided the latter is fit again soon.

About the possibility of an upset

But what about the possibility of an upset? Everyone knows that Joshua had a hard time putting Takam to bed. He didn’t have an easy-going against the old guy Klitschko too, and was just one punch away from losing to Dillian Whyte. So, the Brit champ is not invincible in the true sense of the word.

Joseph Parker on the other hand is no cakewalk as he boasts of 24 wins from his 24 fights, with 18 of them coming through knockouts. Kiwi fighter’s 75% knockout record can’t be overlooked by the value-hunters. He is currently being offered at 9/1 to ruin everyone’s party through a stoppage!

What have you put on the fight? Found any good odds?

Anyone think 9/1 Parker by stoppage is worth a bet?

Nope. The only bet I would even consider would be Joshua to win in rounds 1-6 which is a shade under evens, so not even that great in terms of value really.

Can't see Parker being a bigger hitter than Klitschko. He has got a good stoppage ratio but they are generally stoppages due to accumulation rather than concussive 1 punch ko's, which is how AJ can end fights.

I don't see Parker being able to overwhelm Joshua with accumulation without AJ landing one of those huge bombs, and it will be goodnight Vienetta.

I think Parker's best chance is to box behind the jab and keep moving and when he has the chance grab and tie Joshua up on the inside, similar to what Groves did to Eubank. Be interesting to see if the fight gets to the later rounds if Joshua has the stamina to keep up with Parker.

Betting real money is for fools.

Unless you're willing to lose a little just to make the fight ore interesting. which is kinda' sad, really.

End of discussion.
