donlevy
It was almost a decade ago.The guy who sucker punched him was the same guy who ended up killing Max Kellermans brother(who had taken him in and given him a home) later on.An all around scumbag basically. gavpowell
The fighter dishing out tyhe beating(at a charity match to raise money for World Trade Centre victims), he lost a UD, took his gloves off and went and smashed the other guy, nearly breaking his jaw and slashing his tongue to ribbons. Lovely guy.

Lovely guy. I heard he actually did break his jaw. He was obviously a nut job. Like somebody else already mentioned after he did his 4 months for assault he ended up killing Sam Kellerman and torching his apartment to try and hide the evidence. Best place for him where he is now.
WelshDevilRob
I remember that at the time. James Butler is scum.
donlevy
I think the best place for him would be six feet under.People like that just don't deserve life and are incapable of knowing right from wrong.
irondave85
Yeah, pretty famous incident. One of the things I love about boxing is how two men can embrace after beating the sh*t out of each other. It's sportsmanship at it's very best. So watching that cretin sucker punch Grant - after basically doing nothing when he was supposed to throw punches - made me sick.

iamasadlittleboy
The guy who won never really recovered went 5-7-1-1 afterwards and I think has mental issues at the moment (they were talking about it on KOTV a while back)
Moonrod
Sickening blow - I can remember this at the time. After serving a sentence for this attack he was allowed to fight on (up until the Kellerman murder). After an attack like this should he ever had his boxing licence back? Seems that Boxing is a very forgiving sport - just ask Margarito with his solid wraps and Tyson with his taste for human ears!!!
davemurphy
Yeah, after he did his time, then he wanted reinstated and kept offering up this bullshit excuse that he blacked out after the decision and doesn't remember anything about it.......enough people bought that lame explanation that he got his license back, lost a couple key fights (I remember Omar Sheika beat him just a couple months before the murder), and then when Sam Kellerman wanted him out, killed him with repeated blows to the head with a Hammer (interesting since his nickname was the Harlem Hammer) and then set the house on fire. No word from Prison as to whether he "blacked out" and remembers any of that, my guess is probably not.
