RAZZ-MCFC
Somebody told me today that Haye will officially announce his retirement in the next 2 weeks. Apparently the guy who said it knows somebody who works for Plaza hotels, one of Haye's official sponsors. His contract with them runs out in the coming weeks/months and when asked if he wanted to renew it, he said no as he's going to officially announce his retirement within the next 2 weeks. littleman370
i wouldn't have minded him taking on the likes of arreola or povetkin. he's probably not world champ quality (until the brothers K retired), but can be in good fights if he's matched appropriately
davemurphy
If he does retire, it'll be the first time he's done what he said he was going to do in the last three years ;) It would've been nice to see him have a few more fights versus other Contenders, but to be honest I won't miss him much and he was probably going to fight a leisurely schedule anyway. brooklynbrawler
Since he moved to heavyweight, he's fought once every 8 months, generally against mince or without the style that made him his many fans in the first place. It's no great loss now, but he could easily have been so much more, and that's what's so disappointing more than just the fact he's retiring. DemolitionDan
Can't say thatI blame him. Having a sore toe is definitely a career ending injury, tough to come back from a sore toe. Seriously though, it really is too bad he has the skills, and style to really be a force at heavyweight. I think he could definitely be one of the better Heavyweight fighters for the next 5 years and really establish a great legacy. It is a damn shame that he is retiring. A lot of great, exciting fight can be made, and a lot of intriguing fights. Haye-Arreola, Haye-Povetkin, Haye-Chambers, Haye-Adamek even a Haye-Fury fight and if he won a couple of those fights go up against big brother Klitschko, Vitali. Sheils
A retirement only means that he'll be able to come out of retirement because of 'unfinished business' etc... Watch this space.
davemurphy
A retirement only means that he'll be able to come out of retirement because of 'unfinished business' etc... Watch this space. Every day he's retired, the Klitschkos get that much older, if he does retire then who will be surprised when he returns when they're gone or geriatric? In the end, Haye can do whatever he wants to do......as long as we don't have to listen to him the whole time!

donlevy
He could have made a little more money against Vitali but I think Haye believes he wouldn't stand a chance against him, even though I always thought his speed and movement would give the older and slower Klitschko more trouble.Seems his goal was always to talk his way into a title shot and hope for a lucky shot in the end. Moonrod
It's so frustrating. Think Haye could've done so much better. His Cruiserweight career was a good one, but the move to heavyweight seems a bit pointless now. There was so much expectation and massive potential ........ that really just fizzled out. londoner
I'd prefer Haye to just retire. He got a title shot at the most dominant HW in the World and who he said he would knock out. He didn't even land a significant punch. Haye is all mouth. Last night Tomasz Adamek showed how to fight a dominant HW and leave the ring with more fans. He didn't mouth off, he didn't say he was going to behead Vitali, he didn't parade around like some cheap tart.... He did everything he could and can be proud of his efforts. Haye can't be proud with what he accomplished at HW.
