Official undercard announced for Saturdays

n Saturday, August 27th, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing, returns to the beautiful Tropicana Showroom in the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, to present an action packed seven bout card, featuring heavyweight fan favorite, Vinny Maddalone (33-7, 24KO's), Atlantic City's own long-time welterweight contender, Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez (21-4, 12KO's) in separate bouts. Maddalone is set to take on Mike Sheppard in a ten round heavyweight showdown, while Alvarez will meet Chris Fernandez in an eight round welterweight match-up.

 

 

 

Just recently added to the card is Philadelphia's heavyweight contender, Chazz Witherspoon (28-2, 20KO's) as he is set to square off against Tyson Cobb (14-2, 8KO's). Witherspoon, the 2004 National Golden Gloves Champion, is looking to put himself back into the title contention picture. His two losses as a pro came at the hands of top-rated contenders and world title challengers, Chris Arreola and Tony Thompson. Since the loss to Thompson, Witherspoon has picked up two straight stoppage victories, and will be looking to make it three straight in front of a large contingent of hometown fans who are expected to make the short trip over from Philadelphia. Witherspoon-Cobb is scheduled for eight rounds in the heavyweight division.
