RAZZ-MCFC
One of the best videos i've seen in a long time Hopkins is a fucking legend, i could listen to him speak all day! He knows the sport inside out and will be a class trainer once he's hung them up

donlevy
Don't know about being a motivational speaker, but he's clearly a student of the sport.Guys like Hopkins and Toney lasted as long as they did due to the techniques and defensive moves of fighters from the past. That type of things that allowed Jersey Joe Walcott and Archie Moore(two fighters who both Hopkins and Toney admire) to compete at the top for as long as they did. gavpowell
Yeah, Toney is ridiculously talented and ridiculously knowledgeable and yet he pisses it all away wtith his lack of discipline. Also, if Hopkins is trying to take his opponent's queen, he's getting beaten at chess mlol/
donlevy
Honestly, given how lazy and unprofessional he was in regards to conditioning,I think Toney did real well to compete at the top for as long as he did.

Yes I am that sad I am convinced he would unify the CW division if he got fit again.

I did hear about the picture but I've not seen it...though wasn't he apparently there before his fight with Couture?
gavpowell
I've been a huge Toney fan for years(and a fan of huge Toney as well),but once he got outboxed by Sam Peter in their rematch, that was it.

The original Trainer of James Toney, Bill "Pops" Miller, doesn't get NEARLY enough credit. Toney was Miller's last project and the lessons learned so strong that even out of shape, he still had a huge edge.
davemurphy
Do any of you boxing historians remember when Bill Miller would occasionally (lightly) slap James Toney in the corner, it happened two or three times that I remember in his bigger fights, and always got James attention. I can't remember what fights though, can anyone recall?
