It's no secret, the answer is Bouie Fisher.

I was disappointed that I didn't hear any comments from BHOP when Bouie Fisher died last month, I'm hoping that I just missed them is all. When BHOP got out of Prison and was in the process of establishing his boxing career, Bouie Fisher thought enough of him as a potential fighter to employee Bernard in his Auto Body Shop (Fisher's other job besides training fighters was owning a car shop). By BHOP's own admission, he was the worst employee Bouie ever had, he simply couldn't do the work but Bouie stuck with him and put him on answering the phones and taking messages, rather than letting him go. That's why it was so disappointing when BHOP started making the major league money and started balking at paying Bouie the standard 10% on the Trinidad/DLH etc. money....he'd had no problem paying him that same pct on the crappy Fox Sports paychecks for guys like Antwon Echols. They reconciled briefly after the split, but loyalty is not something I'll ever associate with Bernard Hopkins when he got cheap with a 70+ year old finally making good money.
