Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

....Saturday 23rd February at London's O2 Arena.

I like this clash, good domestic tear up I think.

Feels like it could be the end for whichever one loses. Could be a close fight and I think Degale is on a decline, but may still have enough about him to deal with the somewhat lucky Eubank who is really dining out on his dads name without every proving any class of his own other than some good speed and conditioning.

Assuming Degale is naturally a bit bigger, we know Eubank doesn't have massive power, and Degale will prove an awkward opponent to hit clean for Eubank.

Early odds have Eubank the slight favourite at 4/5, with Degale 6/5.

What do you all say regarding this one then?

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

Eubank drifting like a rudderless ship, and beaten no one with a pulse, Degale probably laziest boxer on planet - if Eubank stays busy diuring the 'fight' he shud scrape a pts win.

PPV worthy? Nope.

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

--- 12 rd nontitle fight, what's up the that? TBA title scrounged at the last minute?

There is a reason Eubank, Hart and Fielding are ranked over Degale on boxrec. Eubank not much, but not much in degale tank, so it's Eubank for me.

2 more rounds in which DeGale to run out of gas.

Clever trick by Team Eubank, if they are behind it.

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

Interesting to see I am the only one slightly favouring Degale. I guess it will really come down to what he has left in him to give, and the key to the fight might just be Eubanks workrate and that's all. Does anyone think the fight will be a good one to watch? Will the styles gel?

I think it's one of those which could ba either really great or really shit.

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

DeGale all day.

He must be good enough still to outpoint Eubank Jr, must be. On paper it's not even close, he's beaten Dirrel, Bute, drew with Jack.. who has Eubank beaten? He hasn't beaten anyone, I think DeGale is just as good as Saunders, if I get this prediction wrong I don't know where I'll go from here.

DeGale on the cards.

Anyone gonna be buying it on ITV Box Off?

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

Interesting fight which sees DeGale a perhaps declining fighter who's on the verge of retirement against Eubank a fighter who needs to win badly to get his career back on track.

If DeGale can bring his A game then I cannot see him losing the fight. Eubanks too one dimensional as we seen against Groves and I think it will cost him the fight.

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

Even though this one is PPV. ITV have two free cards before then - this Saturday, Jose Uzcategui (28-2) vs Caleb Plant (17-0) for the IBF SM title. Starts at 1am, on ITV4, from Los Angeles. Couple of good prospects on the undercard and the return of Guillermo Rigondeaux.

On the 19th Jan, Manny Pacquiao vs Adrien Broner for the WBA welterweight title. Good undercard with Rau'shee Warren vs Nordine Oubaali (very good prospect), Badou Jack vs Marcus Browne, undefeated Jhack Tepora vs Hugo Ruiz. Free on ITV - $75 in the US.

Just to confirm it's Monday morning not Sunday so looks like fight is live in US on Sunday night instead of Saturday.

Re: Degale vs Eubank Jr Confirmed

Degale the laziest boxer in the world. Spends 70% of the fight leaning on the ropes, nothing like the skilful grafting Olympic star. Now past his sell-by date. Eub Jr for first ever fight actually has a trainer in a TUE stable guy. Hes a one trick pony uppercutter with little else in his offence. Got all the makings of a garbage fight. If i had to choose i would prob say Degale on Pts Cls.
