BoztheMadman
Why? Because, first of all, the guy is fucking 48. Since he lost to Huck and Hernandez, he's been tearing through opponents, albeit lower level, but still, for a guy of his age to score six straight knockouts against guys who aren't absolute tomato cans...very suspicious! selij
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice Firat Arslan is on the juice Who isnt? With ridiculous piss testing regimes and manic test:epitest ratios; if you drip-feed it and stay away form 1980s-90s hardcore gear (and many stupidly do not) you will never get caught. And there are many reasons older men want to take gear, not just in boxing spheres.
BoztheMadman
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice I just don't know what he hopes to achieve...maybe he fights just for the love of it, but at 48, who does that? You fight bums, straight bums, not guys who still have a pulse. Like Seferi, whom he fights this weekend.
LondonRingRules
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice --- Dunno Boz, are we to say you juiced because of aggressiveness to Arslan? End of the day his career littered with 80-90% Euro journeymen, not exactly compelling enough to juice. According to Selj, we're all juiced, so as one juicer to another, what's life as a juicer in Boz world? Mind you, the unjuiced me would never ask, but since we are juiced, well, there it is! Yea, sure, they aren't exactly future contenders for a world title, but there are worse ones out there too.
LondonRingRules
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice --- he thrashed huck the first fight, so is obviously a stud. sonny Liston was thrashing b fighters at his end. B fighters, it's what's for old champs at their end.

THRASHED is hardly the right word for ARGUABLY beating a guy in a close fight. :ranger: Arslan was stopped by a B- fighter like Steve Herelius, several years ago. LondonRingRules
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice --- Sonny got his jaw busted by a 180 lb journeyman at the start of his career, so no way he plays with the big boys, right? Need to to erase all them tapes cuz we all know Patterson knocks him out...who's with me????
robprosser
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice Reminds of Juan Manuel Marquez. He was a very soft looking 142 lbs when fighting Mayweather (age 36). Three years later (age 39) he weighs in 143 lbs against Pacquiao, looks like he's carved from marble and punches like a middleweight. Nothing suspicious though, just good living. They all lose every fight outside of their home country by early KO. They don't even try to fight and just want a pay-check. I don't mean that he must be clean, but I wouldn't judge him just by these last fights.

Reminds me of a pac man who went through weight classes like water and still had muscle, speed, power.....
LondonRingRules
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice --- Sorta like Sam Langford over 100 yrs ago starting as lightweight and ending knocking out 240lb heavies, clearly on BALCO Vic's VADA vitamins! Whos with me?
BoztheMadman
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice Reminds me of a pac man who went through weight classes like water and still had muscle, speed, power..... Exactly...:ranger: Foreman was finished at 48 and he had a 10 year layoff in between. Arslan did not. Doesn't matter who he knocks out, to be 48 and still a ranked contender, that is SUSPICIOUS. LondonRingRules
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice --- Boz, Firat ain't ranked by Ring and a distant 21st on boxrec. Since George was widely seen as the easy victor against the running young Briggs, he woulda still been ring ranked no matter that robbery. Really, Firat been feasting on the D guys ranked 200+ on boxrec. Even Seferi only ranks 74th. Much ado over nut'in!

robprosser
Re: Firat Arslan is on the juice Reminds me of a pac man who went through weight classes like water and still had muscle, speed, power..... Not really as Pac went through the weight classes when he was in his 20s (and really has never been more than a light welter). That's not to say he wasn't on anything but it's less implausible than guys in their late 30s and 40s. He put on weight (as did Mayweather) but his essential body shape was the same. Marquez looked like a different guy from the neck down.
