LondonRingRules
--- If so, how's the service? Any option of paying more for a longer term of fights? Most importantly, is it a secure site as identified by a padlock to the left of the address?
Ton
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet --- If so, how's the service? Any option of paying more for a longer term of fights? Most importantly, is it a secure site as identified by a padlock to the left of the address? A quick google and click onto the site shows it is secured, as does the https address. Quite en elementary thing to have for a decent business / service really.
repsac
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet I signed up for it when i went to Boston for the Andrade fight. Got a free pair of gloves as well. Used it often since then. Crystal clear stream. No complaints from me so far.

Most importantly, is it a secure site as identified by a padlock to the left of the address? Cant get it in UK and they are blocking vpn traffic (very cleverly). The encryption of the videos is Widevine and it also uses Playready authentication to register different devices with them for playback (similar to iTunes). They take security seriously I would say. The login page has the https padlock but I doubt the whole site has once you are inside it. http://i68.tinypic.com/2hgcrbb.jpg

An SSL certificate applies to an entire website / domain not just individual pages.
selij
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet An SSL certificate applies to an entire website / domain not just individual pages I said that because the VOD's urls are http not https.
Ton
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet I said that because the VOD's urls are http not https. Oh :noidea: Maybe the VOD section is a subdomain? Dunno.

LondonRingRules
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet --- Well, gavvy did qualify his statement of any idiot could, perhaps disqualifying hisself? Btw, at 10 sec Bellew was 2/3 the way up with his back turned when the ref put his hands on, presumably to keep him from falling. His neck also took a whip lashing on that lower rope. Hes sore as hellll today.

gavpowell
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet Highly unlikely Dazn have done so Gav, ffs. Which was entirely not my point - I'm simply saying that https/looking for padlocks is not a guarantee of safety. A green padlock just means the traffic between you and the site can't be intercepted(under normal circumstances) - it doesn't make the site trustworthy. gavpowell
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet Thi is correct! I know - I may be shit at web design but I'm pretty good at the jobs that actually mean something:haha: DAZN seems to be going well, which is interesting, because my experiences with Perform Group for the snooker were always a bit ropey. Mind you, perhaps the US broadband infrastructure is better than here.
LondonRingRules
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet --- OK, this for our resident geek and security nerds, Frank Abagnale was a 16 yr old runaway from upstate New York trying to earn his own way in this world when he discovered in his desperation a major flaw in corporate structure and the banking system. Aprox $4 mil later, the French authorities caught up to him, serving time before releasing him to the Swedes for more time, and then the US where he serves more time. Big hit movie based on his life, Catch Me If You Can starring Lenny Dicaprio with Tom Hanks as the FBI guy. He served out his time working the FBI to then join up as an employee, and some 40 yrs later here he is in front of google telling his story and that of his work in cybercrime. And so much more...over an hour's testimony, it is some of the most riveting dialogue I can ever call. He denies being a genius, but his command of language and situations allayed with his predatory intelligence puts him a world apart from us mere mortals. Take your potty and grab your beer and sandwich so as to not interrupt him.

LondonRingRules
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet ---What does Fwank have to do with DAZN? I was asking about overall internet security. DAZN had it for their video so I used my laptop. Otherwise, I use my iPhone or library puter to access here and boxrec database.
gavpowell
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet You're not submitting any financial information to here or boxrec, so why worry about a padlock? If a site's not secure it makes no odds which device you access from, the traffic can be intercepted.
selij
Re: Anyone sign up for Dazn yet ---What does Fwank have to do with DAZN? Not as funny when u have to explain... I was on about Frank - as in; the Frank in yur post http://www.koboxingforum.com/showthread.php?t=111861&p=301399&viewfull=1#post301399 If you are on about FWANK then he has nothing to do with Dazone, unlike Fast Eddie who has a $1BN deal running over 8 years https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/boxing/eddie-hearn-boxing-1bn-deal-matchroom-dazn-streaming-giant-pay-per-view-a8345866.html
