Final 3 months of 2018.....what's left to look forward to?

As we enter the final quarter of the year, and it's been a pretty decent year for boxing, let's have a round up of what there is to look forward to.

So what are the big fights left remaining?

A quick check through BoxRec and I can see:

- Wilder vs Fury: But there's lots of questio marks still around whether this one will go ahead. We wait with baited breath.

- Usyk vs Bellew

- Stevenson vs Gvozdyk

- Warrington vs Frampton

- Jacobs vs Derevyenchenko

- Regis Prograis vs. Terry Flanagan

Are there any that's been missed? Which bouts are you looking forward to?

And who are some other exciting upcoming fighters to maybe look out for and keep an eye on before the year is out?

Shoot!

Jacobs vs Derevyenchenko too for the vacant IBF World Middleweight Title thats on Oct 27

And the not so big fights

Fielding vs Alvarez for the WBA (reg) World Super Middleweight Title on Dec 15

And the P4P king (in my view anyway) Terence Crawford is getting out again before the end of the year too.

Efe Ajagba will probably get out again once or twice too, Joe Joyce maybe in Dec (although at 32 not sure if he counts as a prospect despite his young pro career) and hopefully Filip Hrgovic (a bit heavyweight focused as you can see lol)

I wanna see Wilder vs Fury the most but I think there's probably more of a question mark over whether Saunders vs Andrade goes ahead at the moment than Wilder vs Fury.

I keep expecting to hear something about David Benavidez, who may possibly be the best SMW in the game right now, and who hasn't fought since his dismantling of Ron Gavril last Feb.

- But nothing.

I suspect that his team is looking for a big, break-through fight, but that the top guys in the division are ducking him.

But who knows?

Sergiy Derevyanchenko vs. Daniel Jacobs. Oct. 27th.

Regis Prograis vs. Terry Flanagan could be a great fight, (also Oct. 27th) and Prograis possibly could be a future elite, IMO.

Also as per my other post, the extremely impressive Martin Bakole faces a very decent test against Michael Hunter, this weekend.

List updated,

Saunders denied a licence so that bout is off......

Good call on Derevyanchenko vs Jacobs folks. How do we expect this to go? Is the eastern European a new beast to shake up the division and dismantle a solid figher in Jacobs?

And the P4P king (in my view anyway) Terence Crawford is getting out again before the end of the year too.

Fights this weekend, so kept it off the list :thumb:

Another good shout. Flanagan probably out to be something of a gatekeeper for future divisional elite at this stage I suspect. But a decent matchup all the same.

I'm giving a shout out to Glenn Foot. Hes a very underrated fighter and he was robbed against Josh Leather. Since that fight he has beaten Jason Easton and Sam Omidi.

His next fight is against Robbie Davies Jnr. for the British and Commonwealth title this Saturday.

I wish him well and if he wins the title, I hope he drops it. Hes above British level and should be pushing towards a world title fight.

I'm sure fight fans across the world will echo these sentiments, Bud :haha: ;-)
