Re: Canelo's December 15th opponent is British

So has Clenelo relinquished his middleweight titles or do you know what the situation is regarding that?

And Fielding has no chance as far as I'm concerned

Canelo has been granted a voluntary by the WBC and it was expected that this would be at middleweight in December. I doubt the fact that he's taking a supermiddle contest will have much bearing on that. I'm sure the WBA are also fine with this. Not sure about IBO.

But if he fights Fielding next he won't be defending his WBC title in December (which is fine as long as he doesn't continue to have the option of a voluntary beyond then since Charlo has been waiting patiently long enough and he must fight for the strap vs Clenelo after he fights Fielding).

Though I understand the WBC have ordered GGG vs Charlo with the winner to fight Clenelo when GGG has just fought him twice back to back so I guess that would need to take place in December/January if GGG fancies it.

--- Interesting if true, more so since I didn't see any news about this on fight news.

I never found out the Canelo/GGG fight weights their last go round. Trouble making 160 now? Split Big Baby down his vertical axis and we'd have two Canelos!

No more clenbuterol to keep the weight off

Fielding may have a puncher's chance. He stopped that undefeated German not long ago, Zeuge. And in 5 rounds. He's a hit and miss fighter I guess...if he nails you, he wins, but when he doesn't, he gets fooked up. :haha: But his chances of nailing Canelo are slim, yes.

True, but Zeuge sucks. He's a typical hype job, almost never fighting outside of his safe little home country. Canelo is about four levels above him.

Fielding doesn't have 1-punch power, and Canelo is incredibly hard to hit, so I don't even give him a puncher's chance, personally. This fight is roughly similar yo Miller facing a 41-year old Adamek, except of course I'd never compare that skill-less, stumbling fat bastard with Canelo.

----------------

If Canelo was to hide out at 168, hoping that Charlo & Derevychenko both get hit by buses in the interim, he could at least go after someone like Zurdo, or (I can't believe I'm writing this) Chavez Jr.
