20180926s00021000195000p-view.jpgAt the end of 2016 we saw Japan's Yukinori Oguni (19-2-1, 7) score an upset win, shocking Jonathan Guzman to claim the IBF Super Bantamweight title. His reign would end the following year, losing the title to Ryosuke Iwasa in his first defense, before he retired.Today the always entertaining Oguni held a press conference dressed a Pinocchio to announce that he had lied and that his retirement was coming to an end!

The fighter revealed that he would be back in the ring on December 1st at the Korakuen Hall as part of the Dynamic Glove show. The bout will be an 8 rounder at Super Bantamweight, but no other details were actually revealed, so no opponent being was named. But it's still notable that he's making a return, and given how far that date is away it's clear he's taking the return bout very seriously.

The long term plan seems to be to challenge WBO Super Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe, though Oguni described the reason for the return being that he had to earn milk money for his newly born child.

Oguni has got previous for dressing up at announcements, having worn over sized glasses, fake noses, Santa outfits and cosplay outfits, but today's did certainly add something to the press conference which also saw a Japanese Light Welterweight title fightm, between Valentine Hosokawa and Takashi Inagaki, being announced, as well as a bout between Seiya Tsutsumi and Matcha Nakagawa.
