Josh Warrington will defend his IBF World Featherweight title against Carl Frampton at the Manchester Arena on 22nd December, live on BT Sport Box Office.

Warrington (27-0) became Leeds first ever world champion when he upset the odds and defeated Lee Selby at Elland Road back in May.

The undefeated 27-year-old will now be involved in yet another huge domestic clash this year when he faces the current interim WBO World Featherweight champion, Frampton (26-1) subject to IBF sanctioning.

Re: Josh Warrington vs Carl Frampton - who wins?

Warrington was able to get inside the long arms and wide punches of Selby and the ref was quite indulgent of Warrington. If he tries the rough stuff with Frampton he'll get it back. Santa Cruz is a much harder puncher than Warrington. Frampton punches are shorter and harder. Frampton by a four point margin in a hard fought contest. If the fight is in Leeds it might be a bit closer.

Before the demolition of Lee Selby, I would of said Frampton hands down. But, something about Warrington that night made me think of Hatton. He was in magnificent shape and with the crowd behind him he overcame favourite Selby. It was a excellent performance and he will need to reach that level again if he is to defeat Frampton.

I'm surprised they didn't wait and try get the fight at a stadium when the weather is better, but its going to take place at Manchester Arena which holds 21,000 fans.

I slightly favour Frampton, but I wouldn't be surprised if Warrington causes another upset.

I think Josh's swarming and physical style will cause problems for Frampton, but I believe he should be strong and composed enough to deal with it and eventually figure him out.

Warrington's lack of power will probably come into play. While he managed to overwhelm Lee Selby, he is in that taller slender mould (and also lacks power), where as Frampton is a more stockier shape, and he can dig somewhat which will probably discourage sustained Warrington pressure.

It's a good fight though, one to be pretty excited about.
