LondonRingRules
--- Martin the disgraced former IBF champ been sorta trying to stage a comeback after being shot up in some seedy biz in the LA ghetto and Kownacki a chubby face first all action slugger. I see it as a 50/50 fight of wanna be contenders, but picked Kownacki in my predictor. He's also the hungriest with the most to lose. Happens Tomorrow at Barclays in Brooklyn. What sayeth you? LondonRingRules
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin --- Martin at 246 and Kow at 263, over 500 lbs of well marbled beef. BoztheMadman
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin I favor Kownacki to win by a ko in the middle rounds. Martin is just a paper tiger.
LondonRingRules
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin --- Kownacki wins in a slug out, 96-94x 3. No KDs, but no defense, just the ticket to rejuvenate boxing. Btw, Big Baby picked Kow in advance, interesting that...
pittbox
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin I'm not sure about this fight. Maybe it's just my impression, but it looked to me like Kownacki was getting tired slightly faster in each round compared to his previous performances. I think he should loose about 10 kilos like against Szpilka. 96-94 for him is the proper call, though. To be honest, if he fights against Wilder for example, he could be ahead on the cards for a while, but eventually gets clipped with something big. Cableaddict
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin Looked like two fat hippos, mating on the beach. Martin truly has nothing to offer the sport. Kownacki had quite a few nice moments, with a very nice inside game, but his lack of conditioning / inability to put out a sustained attack cost him a showcase KO. Also, as in the past, in the later rounds he once again dropped high high guard and started blocking punches with his face. Clearly, a face made of granite, but that's not going to take him into the elite ranks. I don't see think changing for him, either. Move along folks, nothing to see here....... LondonRingRules
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin --- Mastra, your the first I know of to talk of martin excellent skillset. i haven't seen this fight to comment on his ring acumen, but against Glazkov and Josh he was dire, and it ain't like Kow out skilled him. Hope to see both in meaningful fights in the future.
Cableaddict
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin Yeah I dunno what Mastrangelo is seeing in Martin. He looks painfully basic to me. I'm perfectly willing tot take another look though. Mastrangelo, perhaps you could be more specific in what you like about the guy?
WelshDevilRob
Re: Ring #10 Adam Kownacki vs Charles Martin Technically the fight was poor but it was entertaining. Martin seemed to gain confidence as the bout progressed. Kownacki won but he's not going anywhere. Loved the tenth round as they battled it out. I feared Martin was going to collapse in this fight, just wither away but he kept going and good on him.
