Cableaddict
Re: Chinese to save the heavyweight division? My heart was broken when the great Taishon Dong quit the sport. :faint: It will be a long time before I'm ready to give the Chinese another chance. :mlol: Edited July 30, 2018 by Cableaddict

joe strong
Re: Chinese to save the heavyweight division? The Brits have saved the HW division and OWN the heavyweight division. I'm Canadian & like HWs from all over the globe but I can't disagree with you. The Brits have put the HW division back on top in the sport in my opinion... pittbox
Re: Chinese to save the heavyweight division? Guy usually beats some fairly overweight ex-cruiserweights at obscure events. 8 months without a fight and 36 years old? Everything's about him is shady. Zhang Zhilei is more credible Chinese heavyweight, but he's not young either and doesn't have noticeable names on his pro record so far. Asgarth
Re: Chinese to save the heavyweight division? hearn should just aim to have a most of the promising heavyweights and showcase them in all heavyweights boxing cards. I like that there were 3 more or less meaningful heavyweights featured on saturdays boxing card. Whyte is now a serious contender, Chisora won against fringe contender takam and is now in a position for a money fight (would love joyce to face him, but i dont think haye can deliver the necessary financial incentive for chisora). Webb's 0 is gone and Allen is about to fight for the british title. Something like a 4 man tournament between guys like Kownacki, Zhang, Kean, Kuzmin, Rivas or Milas/Ugonoh would be awesome. Those dudes are decent, but not considered elite prospects, but the winner of such a tournament is at least tested and a serious contender. This is a great idea. everybody loves the heavyweights, even non-boxing fans, and there's currently an absurdly large number of promising prospects. - Some of whom will likely never even get a chance in the limelight. (Bogdan Dinu) Someone really should create a regularly-broadcast program of JUST HW. Pay them enough money so they'll actually fight each other, and work out deals ahead of time for the winners to get guaranteed future fights against the current top ten guys. With heavy promotion, back stories, and highlight clips, I think people would eat it up. Hearn is exactly the guy to do it right now, with his current stable & his DAZN deal. WelshDevilRob
Not really happening for the Chinese takeover. They have their fingers in many pies but no real impact on Heavyweight boxing.
