A Constellation of heavyweight rankings...

Re: A Constellation of heavyweight rankings...

I've always wondered why fighters that have LOST several fights in the top-ten are always still ranked higher than younger, promising fighters with undefeated records. Of all the things that hurt boxing as a whole, that might be the worst.

Why are guys like Hammer, Price, Chisora, and Stiverne ranked much higher than guys like Franklin, Davtaev, Rivas ... (At least Kownacki is up there)

If those latter guys had better rankings, they might be able to get the fights they need to break out. Everybody wins, except the managers of the top-ten guys, who are constantly protected and fed a steady diet of has beens. - And meanwhile many of the best new guys watch their prime years disappear while they "play the game," waiting for a chance.

And BTW- does anyone actually understand this chart? Is Boxrec becoming the new WBA?
