pittbox
I've just noticed that WBA is going to sanction the fight for vacant WBA "World" title between Beibut Shumenov, who has not fought since 2016 and 30-1 Hizni Altunkaya, who fought just once against a legitimate fighter (Głowacki) and end up being beaten badly. Fight's slated for this Saturday in Astana. WBA already has a unified champ (Gassiev), "in-recess champ" (Lebedev) and interim champ (Goulamirian) in the same division. They somehow don't have a "super" champ yet :nono:
LondonRingRules
Re: WBA goes nuts (again) - Shumenov v Altunkaya for WBA CW title --- think it was last year at their annual glee club the WBA said they were going back to one belt per division. then their accountant showed them their projected finances, and seamlessly like shape shifters they returned to a hundred belts. I like shumonev though. Barely 20 bouts and a two division champ. Self managed and SRL trained and partially self promoted.
WelshDevilRob
Re: WBA goes nuts (again) - Shumenov v Altunkaya for WBA CW title 4 champs, the WBA are beyond redemption. Is Lebedev likely to fight again?
repsac
Re: WBA goes nuts (again) - Shumenov v Altunkaya for WBA CW title What a trash fight. In fact that entire card was a joke. A bunch of early knockouts against tomato cans. Yikes.
