LondonRingRules
--- Interesting development in that these are new belts to me in that I don't recall them. Everyone knows of Rings long time divisional belts, so here we with two seemingly new belts. Video with Ring editor talking about recent developments in boxing... Ton
Re: Ring Awards P4P & Fighter of the Year Belts I remember maybe 10 years back or so fight fans tended to lean towards The Rings rating and belt holders as the true rankings. They always seemed the most logical / realistic ones compared to the ABC bodies anyway! But maybe the fact the belts hardly ever got to change hands, or many of the divisions seemngly not having a belt holder (Due to the top guys never facing each other) meant that less emphasis was put on them. Also the fact Golden Boy took over the magazine probably devalues it's "unbiasness" somewhat, so that wouldn't have helped. Ironically in the meantime the ABC bodies have become even more ludicrous with their many belts / champions, yet the boxers and promoters strive to compete for them. We are all obsessed with Unifying the heavyweight division.

You would have to be a very ordinary boxer indeed these days if you didn't hold one belt or other. There are nearly as many belts as fighters.
