Is Danny Garcia avoiding real fights?

Danny 'Swift' Garcia last fought in January 2016. Since then he has been hunting for an opponent. Names linked with him like Broner, Spence, Thurman, Crawford, Khan rematch.

Andre Berto, Sam Eggington and Kermit Cintron have turned down the fight due to low money offers but Team Garcia have now found Samuel Vargas, to fill the date on 12th November. Columbian/Canadian Samuel Vargas (25-2-1, 13 KOs) has stepped up with only a month to go. Vargas has beaten Robson Assis and Juan Armando Garcia and holds the WBA-NABA welterweight title.

Danny Garcia told Spence Jr that Spence wasn't ready yet. Strange, as Spence Jr beat Vargas in four on 2015.

Garcia has talent and some good wins but they don't seem to want to put him in a big fight.

What is going on with Danny's career and do his team have no confidence in him?

Sure seems so. Since getting that verdict over Herrera, he's been cruisin' in shallow waters. To put it that way. After the Matthysse fight, it looked like we had a new great fighter, but then Herrera comes along and spoils the notion that he is so great and then...we get this.

This fight is so pointless i might go to Philly for a club fight on the 11th, and not comeback the next day for this card. It's a shame or sham. Thurman and Spence have been roasting Danny on social media.

Re: Is Danny Garcia avoiding real fights?

Garcia said over the summer that Spence didn't deserve a fight with him until he proves himself against better opposition. But then Garcia is fighting someone Spence stopped 18 months ago. Now they are claiming this is a tune up for a Thurman showdown in early 2017. To me Malignaggi and Guerrero were tune ups.
