The Homecoming in Oslo

It's a historical night in Oslo tonight: for the first time since 1981, a pro boxing card is being held there. I just saw a young cruiserweight prospect Kevin Melhus destroy a German in 2 rounds. Gonna update you on how it's going, just for fun. ;-) As you may or may not know, the main card features the queen of Norwegian boxing, Caecilia Braekhus, in a return match against Anne Sophie Mathis of France. Interestingly, the hottest Norwegian cruiserweight right now, Kai Robin Havnaa, fought tonight but in Germany...kinda weird. Was he not invited or he simply said no to being a side attraction for Braekhus? Who knows. Anyway, he won by an easy KO 2. Against a countryman of mine, lol. Edited by BoztheMadman

Re: The Homecoming in Oslo

A SHOCKER! Braekhus stops Mathis in round TWO with a barrage of punches! Mathis just turned around while against the ropes and looked finished. Shocking, since Mathis has never been stopped and Caecilia has never been regarded as a very hard hitter. What a homecoming! ;-) I guess Mathis has been in a few fights too many...she's 39 also.

I haven't seen the fight, (don't care much about women's boxing) but it kind of sounds like Mathis got paid to lay down. End of career anyway, take that suitcase full of cash and retire ......

Except, of course, that boxing is 100% legit! I keep forgetting.

 No, Mathis was competitive up until she got hurt and stopped. ;-)
