The_budweiser
A lot of talk of a rematch with Santa Cruz in Ireland but he has already beaten him in an enjoyable fight. He should be moving on and looking for his next victim. RSR choose the following 5) Leo Santa Cruz, 4) Vasyl Lomachenko, 3) Lee Selby, 2) Guillermo Rigondeaux and 1) Gary Russell,JR Who would you like to see Frampton fight next? Anyone interested in a rematch with Santa Cruz?

selij
Re: Who should Frampton fight next? He's already decided who hes fighting next: Writing in his column for the Sunday Life, Frampton revealed that his next move is “...looking more likely that it will be a re-match with Santa Cruz either in the UK or the States.”“I’ve told my team – and everybody is on board – that I want it before the end of the year, I want to have a Christmas that I can enjoy because I haven’t been able to do that for a few years because of big fights coming up afterwards.” While Frampton would love to fight in Belfast, the financial viability of bringing El Terremoto to the Titanic City during an Irish Winter is questionable. Indeed Frampton’s honour as a fighting man may end up trumping his desire for an immediate homecoming and he explained that “a rematch with Santa Cruz is what the fans and the television want and he was the champion and gave me my chance so I’m more than happy as the champion now to give him a shot.”

I'm sure the judges will score it different in Ireland. I hope it falls through and Frampton takes a different route. I'd like to see him fight Selby soon. gavpowell
Re: Who should Frampton fight next? I have no problem with a rematch when Santa Cruz gave him his shot, but let's not pretend "The fans want it" - the fans are either hostile or indifferent. LondonRingRules
Re: Who should Frampton fight next? --- Frampton has a great international buzz. He should concentrate on those international fights that can make him the most money and his legacy. That would include the Santa Cruz rematch sooner or later. He doesn't look long for the game, but could leave with a storybook ending, his finances set, and his health intact. While Barry has done a great job developing him, the next couple of years will be crucial. Hard to keep up such a fine edge for more than that for most fighters. Frampton appears to be a guy fighting slightly better than his natural abilities would warrant. Way out there on the edge, working incredibly hard and doing brilliant stuff, but always one mistake away from disaster. I could be wrong of course, but it does seem that way. He's not super strong, he's not super fast, he doesn't possess incredible natural athleticism... yet he's fighting brilliantly, making it work. It's like watching Karl Wallenda walk the titerope in San Juan. - and we all know how THAT turned out. :faint:
pittbox
Re: Who should Frampton fight next? It's typical for most of the British fighters right now that there is nothing really rememberable about their boxing, but overall it works. Crolla is a good example. He struggled to be a top British lightweight boxer and now he beats top contenders in a terrific style.

When it's an American, we say "complete fighter" ;-)
