The_budweiser
Matchroom sent Ringnews24 a press release with Wilder discussing Anthony Joshua vs Dominic Breazeale. Usually when a promoter does this it is to build up a potential fight in the near future. Can anyone see Joshua vs Wilder happening anytime soon? ------ Deontay Wilder says that Anthony Joshua’s IBF World Heavyweight title clash with Dominic Breazeale is a 50-50 fight at The O2 in London on Saturday night (June 25) live on Sky Sports Box Office and on Showtime in the US. Wilder will be part of the Showtime team covering the fight from New York City and the WBC king will be on the edge of his seat as he cannot split champion or challenger as Joshua prepares to defend the World title he landed in April with a devastating second round KO win over Charles Martin. “I definitely see the fight as a 50-50,” said Wilder. “You’ve got two big Heavyweights, and the challenger wants what the champion has, and the champion wants to keep what he has. creed
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? I read an article on Boxing Scene were Wilder said he wants to target a unification fight and he hopes to fight Joshua in October/November. And it's interesting that you posted the above article. Now that match-up is a PPV fight. I think Wilder would be too strong for Joshua at this moment in time.

The_budweiser
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? I think Joshua is progressing well but If I was Hearn I would avoid Wilder just now and get Joshua more experience and up his level of opposition to prepare him for a future fight with Wilder. I'd put Joshua in with Haye soon and I think Joshua would win. That would be great experience against a strong puncher and a nice pay day into the bargain. The_budweiser
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? [h=1]Deontay Wilder top of hitlist[/h] Anthony Joshua has put rival world champion Deontay Wilder at the top of his heavyweight hitlist. Britain's IBF champion takes on unbeaten challenger Dominic Breazeale, live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday from The O2 in London. Joshua's first world title defence will also be screened in America on Showtime and the 26-year-old sees WBC boss Wilder as the ideal opponent when he travels across the Atlantic to fight in the United States. He told Sky Sports: "It is a big market. It comes with pressure, but one day I'll box there and I'll think to myself 'why didn't I capitalise on that market?' "It's something that I want to start progressing to. One of the fights that I'm going to have, I will go there. "The person that springs to mind is Wilder. Then again I could go there and have one of those building fights that will showcase me to the American public before I get myself up to the big names like Wilder. "It's a good opportunity and it's good that Showtime are on board, but I've got to win Saturday." LondonRingRules
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? --- Translation: he's willing to go to America to fight undefeated Haymon darling Washington so he can get a shot at the undefeated Haymon darling the bronze Bambi. Problem being Josh is making big money already that can't be matched in the us, so Brits treated to more us horizontal heavies. Only comp for Josh is fury or Wlad. WelshDevilRob
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? Don't see it happening this year. Saw a video interview with Wilder and he didn't seem to have a plan for who he was likely to fight after Arreola. He made the right noises about unification but I think it's a year away at least. Fury vs Joshua is much more likely in November.
Javier Ortega Nieto
Re: Wilder soon for Joshua? I think Joshua easily win their commitment to this Saturday against Breazeale and that after this fight will surely make more defenses "easy" before facing one of the best in the division. Of course Wilder is now the head of the heavy but we have other boxers without being the best can give Joshua great difficulties, one of them the Cameroons Takam or New Zealander Parker.
