Rigondeaux gets UK fight

One of the world’s top pound-for-pound boxing stars Guillermo Rigondeaux will fight in Britain for the first time on Saturday 12th March at the Liverpool Echo Arena when he faces Merseyside hero Jazza Dickens.

The Cuban superstar takes on Dickens over ten rounds on the undercard of Terry Flanagan’s WBO World Lightweight title defence against Derry Mathews and is a further fantastic addition to the top quality show, that saw world class fighter Zolani Tete added to the line up this week.

Undefeated Rigondeaux, who fights out of Miami, Florida, is regarded as the world’s best super-bantamweight and the dangerous 35-year-old is the man that Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg both chose to avoid and instead wisely opted to fight each other.

Re: Rigondeaux gets UK fight

I can't help thinking this fight is set up for Dickens to lose, so it sets up a bigger fight between Rigondeaux and Frampton/Quigg.

Are you suggesting there might ever have been another outcome - the man who lost to Kid Galahad taking on the most talented man in world boxing and you think there'd be anything other than one result?

--- More excitement in a plain ham sandwich than Rigomortis has shown in his career.

Cubans have proved to be busts save for Kid Blast who continues to be jerked around by boxing. Jazzy getting the dickens beat out of him ain't p4p boxing, it's the only way to get Rigormortis into the ring.

--- I thought so, but he's Rigormortis with lousy management that can't make fights which is why Arum let him go.

Much easier to go to Russia and then be denied a visa into UK if he don't want to fight. Way to go team, so now onwards to their next disaster as their goof fans say this proof fighters are ducking the dummy.
