iamasadlittleboy
Gamboas standing as a WBA "Champion" is STILL under review. Gilberto Mendoza was friendly enough to tell me on Twitter when he was asked. As much as the WBA are a joke Mendoza is a lot more decent than he who is "showing signs of brain damage" ;)
edsel77x
iam, so they elevated him after Lopez lost? Well, it appears he beat the guy who beat the guy. Is that not what they consider lineal?

Is that not what they consider lineal? Gamboa was the "unified WBA champion" when he held both the WBA and IBF titles, the IBF stripped him after he failed to make the mandatory IBF weigh in for the Solis fight so stripped him. His position with WBA has been under-review since. It's nothing to do with Salido. Also the linear WBA champion is still Chris John, though Gamboa and Johnathon Victor Barros also hold titles from the WBA.
WelshDevilRob
WBA situation in this division seems a right mess. No idea what they think they are playing at. They are just cheapening the history of the belt.
