edsel77x
Humberto Soto, the WBC lightweight beltholder who is scheduled to fight Urbano Antillon on the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley undercard on May 7, has declared himself a free agent and may pull out of the anticipated rematch, according to reports on Boxingscene.com. Soto, who has been promoted by Top Rank for many years, is rumored to be looking for a new promoter and has no intention to go through with the rematch with Antillon, who engaged the skilled Mexican veteran in a 12-round fight of the year candidate last December. Soto (55-7-2, 32 knockouts) beat Antillon via narrow unanimous decision. The rematch, which is scheduled to be a part of the Pacquiao-Mosley Showtime Pay-Per-View broadcast, has been heavily anticipated by hardcore fight fans. http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/165271-rumor-soto-to-pull-out-of-antillon-rematch
edsel77x
Does anyone have any inside info concerning the purported rumor and especially about Soto leaving Top Rank. It's crumbling...!
iamasadlittleboy
Rings online site seems to becoming more and more like one of those shitty rumour mills. How hard would it really be for them to contact Soto, Arum etc?

edsel77x
Looks like ESPN's DAn Rafeal has reported on it also. Lightweight titleholder Humberto Soto, claiming he is owed more than $1 million by Top Rank and that his promotional agreement with the company is expired, has declared himself a free agent, attorney and co-manager Michael Miller told ESPN.com. Top Rank announced in February that Soto (55-7-2, 33 KOs), of Mexico, would face Urbano Antillon (28-2, 20 KOs) in a rematch of the 2010 ESPN.com fight of the year on the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley Showtime PPV undercard on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Miller, however, said Soto never signed a contract for the fight and would not participate in the bout. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=6354065

gavpowell
Everyone bitches about the Ring being owned by GBP but I've yet so see any signs of bias - they slated Oscar for the Pacquiao fight for one thing.
