iamasadlittleboy
King Khan dethroned Sky Sports may promote from every possible angle their all-singing, all-dancing 3D coverage of the Masters. But they are far less expansive when events do not work out as planned - like the Amir Khan v Paul McCloskey fight on April 16 being switched from Sky Box Office pay-per-view to Sky Sports 3 because of the poor undercard. The publicity machine denied this was even a possibility when asked about the issue by Sports Agenda on Sunday even though it was already under discussion. Sky, who had 50 buys for the Khan bout, call it an unprecedented situation. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1374639/Charles-Sale-Wayne-Rooneys-ructions-brought-book.html#ixzz1IxdACEYd
WelshDevilRob
If thats true it just shows he's not a PPV star yet. This will be a huge blow to his Teams ego.
super_hoops1967
Not surprised tbh Boxing fans wouldn't pay £15 for it and khan fans probably not impressed with the opposition after maidana....two steps forward then ten steps back.
grapevine241
lmao. i guess khan isnt allowed to fight nobodies back in the UK, surprising.
gavpowell
I think ticket sales are probably healthy, but I've ot even seen any promotion for the PPV and I think everyone knows McCloskey isn't much of an opponent. Maybe we can break the cycle of big-name opponent, nonentity now
grapevine241
how come in the UK you have to buy the PPV in advance? in the US i just click on the remote as its about to come on
gavpowell
You can do the same here - I never order a PPV until it's starting.
iamasadlittleboy
how come in the UK you have to buy the PPV in advance? in the US i just click on the remote as its about to come on Thats kind of the reason for how low the numbers are, most people buy 1 or 2 days prior to the fight or on fight night, but these are still atrocious figures... grapevine241
oh okay, i thought you had to call in by phone or something archaic like that
Skav
Well done to the public! They are finally wising up and are starting to recognise crap when they see it. Now, where are those clowns who bought the PPV and fight tickets to watch Haye vs Harrison?
brooklynbrawler
It doesn't really tell the story because 90% of people will buy the PPV on the day, but yeah, it's a shocking main event, and Khan, instead of thinking about suing, should be thankful some of the already piss poor fights he's had have paid so well. I get your point but the figures are obviously alot lower than what there use to at this stage because theyve pulled the plug
RAZZ-MCFC
Good!! this was never a PPV fight to begin with and Khan isn't even a PPV fighter! he's had 1 fight worthy of PPV and that was Maidana and that only sold as good as it did because it was riding on the back of a Warren Promotion
