The magnificent Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, USA, played host to the intriguing clash between WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee and former, undefeated holder Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin. There was controversy at the weigh-in, as Quillin failed to make the weight and subsequently Lee's WBO belt wasn't on the line.

Re: Andy Lee vs Peter Quillin Fight Report

If that's want PBC is all about I don't want any more.

Quillin and Lee both fought scared with some of the worst rounds I've ever seen, round 4 anyone?

Peterson on his bike for the first 4 rounds was pathetic, he was fighting Danny Garcia not Ruslan Provodnikov!

Al should half the pay he offers then stick a huge bonus for FOTN to shot crap like that and perhaps incentivise KO's. If you're going to "change the face of the sport" you might as well go whole hog...

Nah, it was a pretty good scrap, just a few mellow rounds where you could still see their mental gears turning. I really enjoyed it.

I think you're just used to those incredibly talented, fast little asian guys. Almost anything else is slow & boring, by comparison!

- Although I think Lee should have turned it up a little more. But you know, that's easy to say in retrospect. Turning it up against Quillin can get you KTFO.

I though Quillin should have showed some killer instinct in rounds 2,3 and 4. If he had, Lee wouldn't have lasted. It's been the same with Quillin for too long now. Yes he has power, speed and potentially a lot of excitement but there is something missing mentally. Fights against Rosado and Konecny both showed his boxing limitations and now he's shown his ineptitude at against a fight who was wobbled EVERY TIME he connected.

The fight I enjoyed most this weekend was the Afolabi vs Ramirez fight followed closely by Martinez vs Salido, Lebedev vs Kalenga was solid too. The PBC still looked crap in the ring by comparison.
