The_budweiser
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? 'Brook-Gavin' doesn't have the same ring to it as 'Brook-Khan' does it? I wonder if Gavin was promised a shot at Brook's world title when he signed in January for Matchroom or Hearn's failure to land Khan left him with no other viable options. For Gavin to win this he will have to pull off the fight of his life. I think Brook will be too strong and stop Gavin on the night. Great opportunity for Gavin and if he wins this it opens up a lot of doors for him. Brook KO9.
iamasadlittleboy
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? Brook wins inside 5 and gets the deserved stick for fighting Frankie "the Flop" The big winners are going to be streaming sites whilst the bigger losers should be the slimey cunt promoting it and Sky who will hopefully have a backlash with boxing fans telling them where to shove their PPV bullshit. I spent ages defending Sky against boxnation. Numerous times I trudged out the "they are a SPORTS channel not a BOXING channel". Suddenly however it seems Sky Sports are nothing at all to do with boxing, it's a bunch of greedy cunts ripping off the fans and delivering feck all in return. Sadly however Boxnation aren't providing much either, at least not on the domestic scene (well done to Boxnation for picking up a fair bit of Stateside action though). I know I bang on about Japan a lot but between April 16th and May 6th they will be getting- Shinsuke Yamanaka (22-0-2, 16) Vs Diego Ricardo Santillan (23-0, 15) on April 16th (NTV). Katsunari Takayama (28-7-0-1, 11) Vs Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (27-3-1, 15) and Kazuto Ioka (16-1, 10) Vs Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19) on April 2nd (TBS) Takashi Miura's (28-2-2, 21) Vs Bily Dib (39-3, 23) and Ryota Murata (6-0, 4) Vs Douglas Damiao Ataide (13-1-1, 6) on May 1st (Fuji TV). Ryoichi Taguchi (24-2-1, 8) Vs Kwanthai Sithmorseng (49-3-1, 26) and Takashi Uchiyama (22-0-1, 18) Jomthong Chuwatana (9-0, 4) on May 6th (TV Tokyo) ALL ON FREE TO AIR! And those in Nagaoya can also get local star Kosei Tanaka (4-0, 2) fighting for a world title in fight #5 (CBC) As well as the free fights they get a lot of domestic action on NTV G+ and Fuji 1/2/Next

BoztheMadman
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? I have an uncontrollable urge to roar with laughter. :mlol: Who else CAN win but Kell? ;-) Kell stops him in 6, 7 rounds. Maybe 8.
WelshDevilRob
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? Looking forward to the two Welsh boxers (Lee Selby and Craig Evans) on the show and both have an excellent chance of winning. I don't believe Frankie Gavin merits a World title shot but am not anti this fight. It's a Voluntary defense, for Brook, and Gavin can be tricky and awkward. Wouldn't surprise me to see it go twelve rounds. Linares vs Mitchell is a decent match-up. Linares has fought at a higher level but has had some chin issues. iamasadlittleboy
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? Do people believe this bill should be a PPV? Yeah it should be, however Hearn has yet to put on a good card this year for Sky Sports and as a result this card shouldn't be looked at in isolation. Instead of asking if this bill should be PPV the question should be "have Sky and Hearn got any right to be asking for PPV less than a month after the Mayweather bout following absolute garbage so far this year?" If Sky sports was free or if there was a solid standard of bouts on Sky Sports then people wouldn't complain about this being PPV but sadly Sky sports costs a fortune, has just gone up in price and their boxing coverage has been pathetic so far this year. ... Oh and thats with out mentioning the way he bastardised the recent Birmingham card to make this one!

WelshDevilRob
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? I didn't even know Nathan Cleverly was fighting, until I saw his name at the bottom of a Matchroom press release. I actually bumped into Craig Evans, who is fighting Scotty Cardle for the British lightweight title - really looking forward to this competitive fight. Craig is very talented and is in great shape. Meathead
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? Without a doubt its a stacked card. There are a number of very very good fights here, I personally think Mitchell/Linares is going to be something special, but I still can't justify paying PPV money for it to be honest. Maybe thats just me being cheap, but despite a number of good fights, no one fight stands out and makes me want to hand over my hard earned. gavpowell
Re: Rule Britannia: Brook vs Gavin, who wins? Mitchell will be spark out before the halfway mark. And almost certainly we'll hear how he's actually really talented. As usual.

And almost certainly we'll hear how he's actually really talented. As usual. Kevin Mitchell can bite on his gum shield and fight if he has to though. Liners can't. I think Mitchell will drag him in to a war and will end up getting the KO. The fact that they both have weaknesses are what makes this such a good matchup.
