The_budweiser
Kell Brook, May 30 Timothy Bradley, June 13 "Currently, the Van Heerden fight is going on ahead in Birmingham on May 9, but I have been offered the Timothy Bradley fight at Madison Square Garden on June 13 for the IBF eliminator and Kell Brook in London at the O2 [Arena] on May 30. I will be sitting down with Eddie Hearn to weigh up my options and we will make an announcement in the next few days," stated welterweight contender Frankie Gavin during a recent conversation with FightHype's own Scott Smith. Evidently, Gavin has been offered two lucrative bouts which could alter his immediate future plans. Gavin is currently scheduled to face Chris Van Heerden at the Barclaycard Arena in his hometown of Birmingham, England. That fight, however, could be scrapped now that Gavin has been offered fights with both Bradley and Brook. The Bradley offer presumably came about when former world champion Amir Khan allegedly passed on an opportunity to fight in an IBF eliminator to determine Brook's mandatory challenger. Considering that Gavin and Brook are both promoted by Eddie Hearn, one would expect that fight to come to fruition before a bout with Timothy Bradley. What's interesting to note is that the potential Brook vs. Gavin bout is being targeted for May 30, which is the same date that Amir Khan is hoping to make his return. iamasadlittleboy
Re: Frankie Gavin offered 2 big fights How he manages to be in the running for any fight of note is a mystery. I assume he must be very cheap as he can't draw flies to turds and is a cure for insomnia.
LondonRingRules
Re: Frankie Gavin offered 2 big fights Kell Brook, May 30 Timothy Bradley, June 13 Source: Fight Hype --- Gavin has a better chance against Bradley who has been gimpy and gunshy ever since Manny and Provodnikov. Emasculated really as he relies on a defensive running style to save himself against the 40 year old JMMarquez. Gavin can never win a decision against Brook in England. WelshDevilRob
Re: Frankie Gavin offered 2 big fights I thought when Hearn signed Gavin, the aim was to deliver him to Kell Brook in a World title defense. I think Frankie found his true level in the defeat against Bundu and since that defeat, hasn't done anything to warrant a fight with the likes of Brook or Bradley. Latest is that Shawn Porter will fight Timothy Bradley, while Gavin vs Brook is going to happen. Gavin is obviously going to jump at the chance of an IBF title shot but he doesn't deserve one. Hearn trying to build a PPV show for May 30th.

iamasadlittleboy
Re: Frankie Gavin offered 2 big fights Well done Sky, Eddie Hearn et al on further killing the interest in boxing in the UK. Good game fellas, well played. Short sighted imbeciles.

Good game fellas, well played. Short sighted imbeciles. Would have thought this show would be free (apart from the subscription fee). Can't see people shelling out two £20's in the month of May. So, the sales of this show likely to be poor.

He could have used the 3 main fights for SOLID Sky Sports cards and rebuild some of the good will he had a year or so ago. Instead he's fleecing fans and showing us that he doesn't give flying feck about who we are. Hopefully the sales bomb and he's forced to lose money, can't see it happening but I can hope...
