Glove-Sensor Technology is DOOMED !

I was watching tonight's BKB boxing event, amazingly bored considering that Curtis Stevens & Gabe Rosado were really going at it.

Anyway, here's my point about the glove sensors:

AFAIK, tonight is the first time they're actually showing punch speed & impact pressure, so It's kinda' cool so far. Also, with each fight broadcast tonight, the fighters' overall speed & power seemed to increase, so it was kind of exciting, as well.

EXCEPT:

What happens once we reach the peak? What happens when (and this will be very soon) everyone knows that a top fighter can throw his back hand at 25 MPH and with maybe 600 lbs of force? After that, every time we we a fight where both guys are averaging less than half of that (such as happened in the first few fights tonight) that's going to make those fights LESS exciting, even if there's major action.

It will be like watching a Nascar race where all the cars are restricted to 125 MPH. Who's going to be interested?

And what about casual fans watching the lower weight classes? You KNOW they're going to see the numbers and just go, "Feh...."

This entire idea is going to self-destruct. Soon.

The lower weights are going to set the records for speed whilst the heavier weights will do it for force...at the end of the day though BKB is a gimmick and it's amazing how much attention it's getting...I'm all for them trying new things though and giving fans a chance to enjoy something a little bit different.

I don't want to know these statistics during or after fights, there a bit pointless like Compubox.

However, I think this kind of technology should be used in there training to see if there exercises or training routine is improving or having an effect on there speed or power.
