BoztheMadman
At least according to Boxrec he has. I knew he struggled to make 168, but I thought he'd wanna campaign at 175...this is unexpected.
Cableaddict
Re: Edwin Rodriguez enters cruiserweight ranks Wow, that's insane. The CW division is so deep right now with deadly talent, I'd wanna be ANYWHERE else. Usyk, Mchunu, Drodz, Wlod, Kalenga, Makabu, Kudryashov, Dorticos .... good lordamighty ! Every one of these guys would cripple & humiliate Rodriguez. I mean they would just put him in the hospital. Even the second-tier guys, like (IMO) Lebedev, Jones, Isiah Thomas, YPH, and that protected hype-job Marco Huck () would give Rodriguez serious trouble. ------------------------------- Rodriguez would actually be better off chowing down on a few extra cheeseburgers, and fighting at HW. He'd still have no chance at a belt, but at least he'd get paid better. ------------------------------ Edited March 31, 2015 by Cableaddict
QBoxing
Re: Edwin Rodriguez enters cruiserweight ranks What he said. ^ Edwin Rodriguez will be very flabby and untrimmed at 200lbs. Sure, he was always on the upper-end of the 168lb class, and might want to consider a move to 175lbs for flexibility and some shot at being a contender, but he gets fried in a very underrated Cruiserweight division by fighters who'll dwarf him in both size and physicality. I sincerely doubt he sticks to this weight class, if it is even true that he's competing there for a fight or two. He'll get starched as bad as Cleverly and Bellew will if they tempt anyone in those shark-infested waters. I would hate to see him throw away his career with poor decision making. You have to consider that once you develop a frame 20-25lbs heavier, it can be really difficult to grind back down and do the full weight cut for 68-75. We all know he'll be nothing at 200lbs. I'd really hate to see him try it. Doing so could have some longstanding consequences for his career -- even if he can scrape past a couple of second-tier fighters. I reckon he won't be staying long, because when he sees how deep it is, he'll be running back to 175. There at least he can win some alphabet title.
