BoztheMadman
The middleweight ko sensation Danny "Miracle Man" Jacobs is to make his first defense of the WBA belt he won by destroying Jarrod Fletcher against the skilled and dangerous Caleb "Golden" Truax, a man whose only loss came in a fight against Jermain Taylor, where he dropped Taylor once. Jacobs' only loss of course is by ko to Dmitry Pirog. This is gonna be the classic boxer vs puncher fight. Truax can hit, but Jacobs is clearly the big lights out puncher here. Who are you picking? The fight is on 24 of April btw.

WelshDevilRob
Re: Jacobs to make his first defense against Truax No shame in losing to Dmitry Pirog. Is Danny the only WBA champion at middleweight?

Is Danny the only WBA champion at middleweight? No...isn't GGG the SUPER champion? Think so. Danny is the REGULAR champion and then...im sure there is an interim one too. Danny is the REGULAR champion and then...im sure there is an interim one too. Chris Eubank Jr. :noidea: I like this match-up, Daniel Jacobs Vs. Caleb Truax. Truax, when he's on (which isn't always the case), can make it a dog-fight. That is something I can't see Jacobs being too fond of. Truax is also able to let the other guy dictate the pace of the fight and not effectively pressure. If he does that, and Jacobs is able to push him around a bit, I would expect smooth sailing for the "regular" titlist. This fight doesn't hint towards that, though, I think Truax puts on a career best performance, but still drops the fight comfortably, around 118-110/117-111, on points. Jacobs has proven himself to be a special talent (Pirog was, too), while Truax went life and death with Ossie Duran (a very uncomplimentary fighter, but, still, a journeyman). His best win is still over a completely weight-drained Don George as well. Jacobs is going to box him a little, and pick his spots to bang on the inside. That alone might be enough to leave Truax chasing the rounds and watching them run right on by him.
