WelshDevilRob
Giovani Segura, Roman Gonzalez Start Trading Words By Pablo Fletes, notifight.com Mexico's Giovanni Segura (26-1, 22KOs) will face Ivan Calderon on April 2 in Mexico in a junior flyweight rematch. Segura is a heavy favorite in the bout. Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (27-0, 23KOs) plans to make the first defense of his crown, also in Mexico, but on March 19. The two boxers have begun to come out publicly, especially Segura, who over the weekend told BoxingScene.com/NotiFight.com that he's not afraid to face the Nicaraguan knockout artist for his World Boxing Association (WBA) title. "If Chocolatito really wants to fight me, let him speak to my promoters (Zanfer)," Segura said. "The talking needs to stop. If 'Chocolatito' really thinks that he can beat me, then they should approach us to negotiate. I'll fight him, anywhere, as long as I am paid what I'm worth. Chocolatito has not fought anybody of quality. Why would I be afraid of Chocolatito if I went to Puerto Rico to beat the best (Ivan Calderon)? I repeat I have no fear of anyone, much less of Chocolatito." For his part, Gonzalez also continued to show interest in the fight with Segura. "He's going to fight with Calderon at 108-pounds, so perhaps he'll stay at the weight so he can fight me. I hope we can fight, because if he doesn't arrive well prepared, Calderon has the ability to win that rematch. I would like to fight with him, but at 108-pounds," Gonzalez said.
