The_budweiser
By William Mackay: British light welterweight champion Lenny Daws (21-1-2, 9 KO’s) believes that WBA Super World light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) will struggle with unbeaten EBU light welterweight champion Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KO’s) on April 16th at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. In an interview at thesun.co.uk, Daws said this about Khan-McCloskey: “Khan definitely shouldn’t be viewing this as an easy night’s work because it’s going to be a tough fight. McCloskey’s bided his time and now he’s got to grab his opportunity. But Khans quick, he’s fit and can be busy for 12 rounds, so I can see him nicking it on points.” Daws seems to be really over-valuing McCloskey’s ability because I don’t see anything in this fight that would suggest it being anything other than a big mismatch between a much more talented Khan and a slower, weaker McCloskey. It would be better if Daws had waited until McCloskey had proven himself capable of beating a fighter like Khan by at least facing and beating one fringe level fighter in the light welterweight division. However, McCloskey has faced little more than B and C level opponents during his career, and Khan figures to be a huge leap up in competition for the Ireland’s McCloskey. Daws, 32, will be defending his British title against Ashley Theophane (28-4-1, 7 KO’s) on Saturday night at the Wembley Arena, in Wembley, London. This is going to be one of Daws’s tougher title defenses because Theophane can fight and he might be able to pull off an upset in this one. Daws is ready to be taken. http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/02/daws-thinks-khan-will-have-problems-against-mccloskey/
gavpowell
It's a worthless article because he doesn;t say why he thinks Khan will struggle, he just says "I think he should be careful." Such insight.
Faulks
Yeah I think you'd have to be daft to bet against khan in this fight. Even the most staunce Paul fan will admit he's up against it.
