Recommended Posts

The schedule of events for the London 2012 Olympic Games will be released at 0001 GMT on Tuesday.

Organisers will provide the date, time and venue for each of the hundreds of sessions of competition across all 26 Olympic sports.

The Games, being held in London for the first time since 1948, run from Friday 27 July to Sunday 12 August 2012.

Tickets go on sale on 15 March 2011, allowing members of the public four weeks to view the schedule beforehand.

There are 6.6m tickets available and applications will close on 26 April, with all oversubscribed sessions being allocated via a ballot.

As well as giving fans the first chance to plan their Olympic viewing, the full schedule will inform athletes such as British hopes Jessica Ennis and Tom Daley of the exact timetable of their gold medal bids.
