Faulks
Price to spar with Solis Liverpudlian off to Germany to grapple with contender British heavyweight David Price has been drafted in for sparring with Odlanier Solis ahead of the Cuban exile's heavyweight title shot. The undefeated Solis will take on WBC champion Vitali Klitschko in Cologne on March 19 as he becomes the latest to bid to break the Klitschkos' stranglehold on the division. Price, an Olympic bronze medallist in Beijing, stands 6ft 8in tall and is of a similar stature to the elder Klitschko. And promoter Frank Maloney believes the time is right for the Liverpudlian to test his skills against the best in the division. "It is wonderful experience for David to be in such an environment," said Maloney. "He can also gauge how far he is from that level when he gets rounds with these type of fighters. "It will be interesting to see what opinion he forms of Solis because a lot of people believe he is the man to break their monopoly." Effective Maloney reiterated his belief that Price is the man to succeed the Klitschkos as the world's best heavyweight. "The Klitschkos might not be the greatest to watch, but they are effective and David is the nearest thing we have to them. "It is only a matter of time before he is like the Klitschko brothers and the most dominant force in the heavyweight division." Price will fly out to Germany after his next fight against South African Osborne Machimana on Saturday, which will act as a Commonwealth title eliminator. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_6716859,00.html? iamasadlittleboy
Maloney thinks price is going to replace the Klitschko's? What has Frank been smoking? Meth?
WelshDevilRob
Good move by both. Price obviously has the height comparable to Vitali. Hopefully Price chin holds up. grin//
