londoner
I read this on Boxing Scene. They didn't offer any reason saying that no official reason had been given.

grapevine241
seeing as how ariza's conditioning is the only thing that stopped khan from getting KO'd in his last fight, id say this is a bad move

Brick Top
By Rick Reeno BoxingScene.com was advised by Shah Khan, father of WBA 140-pound champion Amir Khan, that strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza will no longer be working with his son. There are several rumors floating around as the exact reason for Khan's replacement of Ariza, but Shah would not comment on any of the stories being circulated. He told BoxingScene that both parties needed to move on. Khan is trained by Freddie Roach, who is close friends with Ariza. Shah made it clear that Ariza being dropped from the team will in no way affect his son's relationship with Roach. A new strength and conditioning coach is being brought in. "We just needed to move on. Amir needed to move on. Freddie is going to bring in another conditioning coach. He already mentioned a name, but we'll wait [to disclose the name] until he gets everything." Shah told BoxingScene.com. Khan returns on April 16 at MEN Arena in Manchester. No opponent has been set. http://www.boxingscene.com/amir-khan-making-team-changes-parts-with-alex-ariza--35285
Brick Top
The way I see it Ariza isnt the only conditioning coach out there, and probably not even the best. If he'd split with Roach it might be a different story, but Ariza can be replaced
dulais_valley
I agree to a certain extent Bricktop. At the end of the day conditioning is a science and technique that a lot of people can amster and then drill into a boxer. You need a bigger "gift" to be a great trainer and devise boxing plans to beat opponents etc than you do to condition somebody.
Skav
This could produce problems between Roach and Khan. If Khan splits with Roach then that will be his downfall. And just when things were getting rosy for him.

edsel77x
a bit shady to be to be stealing from someone who has helped you, if that is the case... Everybody is expendable but when you have a recipe for success and you deviate from it..., To each his own.
