grapevine241
Martinez vs Dzinziruk: Sergei Hires Trainer Buddy McGirt by Rick Reeno BoxingScene.com was informed by Harry Kazandjian, adviser to WBO junior middleweight champion Sergei Dzinziruk (37-0, 23KOs), that his boxer is being trained by James "Buddy" McGirt for the upcoming fight with Sergio Martinez (46-2-2, 25KOs) on March 12 at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. McGirt has trained dozens of fighters over the years, including the late Arturo Gatti and Antonio Tarver. The WBC's Diamond Belt will be at stake. "We are not playing games. Sergei is ready. He says there are no 'ifs' or 'buts', he plans to beat Martinez," Kazandjian tells BoxingScene.com http://www.boxingscene.com/martinez-vs-dzinziruk-sergei-hires-trainer-buddy-mcgirt--35246

iamasadlittleboy
I don't think McGirt will/can change his style much. hopefully just get him some decent sparring
davemurphy
Wow, Buddy has been on a real slump the last several years and I don't see this one as breaking it either. I'm wondering if Las Vegas will start offering odds on Buddy going 0 for 2011 on big fights? grin// The thing is, he's not doing anything different now than when he was on top. If you don't have the Horses, it doesn't matter who Trains them, they aren't going to win the Kentucky Derby grin// Buddy doesn't get the Champs he did before, for whatever reason, and now he's with guys who make his "I'm not going to just let you take punishment" speech a standard feature.
