WelshDevilRob
Juanma To Make Defensive Adjustments For April Bout By Jhonny Gonzalez According to manager Orlando Piñeiro, WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez is going to make big defensive adjusments prior to his next fight which is tentative for April 16 in Puerto Rico. The rumored opponent is unbeaten boxer Teon Kennedy. Juanma's team feel the the Puerto Rican star has left himself open to damaging punches in some of his recent fights. In November's TKO win over Rafael Marquez, Juanma was hurt by a comination of punches in the fourth that put him in serious trouble. Pineiro and company want to change a few things to beef up his defense. "As part of the team, we are open for further work and focusing on technical deficiencies and tactics. If Juanma has a shortcoming, we'll work on it. I see in Juanma a mature man who wants to face challenges and so far money has not changed him. We will make adjustments every day to improve the performance of our fighter, " Pineiro said to Carlos Rosario. Pineiro does not plan to make any training changes. He doesn't feel that something should be fixed if it's not broken. "Did Emanuel Steward do anything to help Oscar De La Hoya? .. No. In what way has Steward helped Miguel Cotto?. The great fighters who changed their trainers, in what way were they helped? I'm not against change, but I like to accept any mistakes. Great boxers who have changed trainers have ended up losing in the end. Look at Oscar de la Hoya who was unbeaten when he was with Roberto Alcazar and look at what happened after he removed him from his corner. Big changes get made and things can be disastrous," Pineiro said. Source: www.boxingscene.com

WelshDevilRob
I've never heard of Teon Kennedy so assuming this is a stay busy style fight til the bigger bouts. Anyone seen Teon Kennedy or know about him? How good is he?
donlevy
I've never heard of him either. What makes me laugh is Lopez fighting guys like this and then having the nerve to turn around and dismiss fighting another fighter due to him not being a big enough name. iamasadlittleboy
Kennedy will be what Hernan Marquez was to Donaire, an easy bout where the guy can practice in glorified sparring conditions (Donaire fought Southpaw I think)
