March 31 1943Before a crowd of 10,537 and a reported gate of $23,650 at the Arena in Cleveland Ohio, The Cincinnati Cobra Ezzard Charles would suffer his first loss by knockout at the hands of Murderers’ Row member Lloyd Marshall. The Co-main event also saw Joey Maxim reverse the only knockout loss of his career by way of a lopsided unanimous decision over Rival Curtis “Hatchetman” Sheppard.
