selij Posted December 23, 2013 Share Posted December 23, 2013 EBU heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora (19-4, 13 KO’s) could find himself in position to get a title shot in 2015 of 2016 if he chooses to take part in a WBC heavyweight eliminator bout to try and get a title shot at the winner of the February 15th fight between Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola. Those two are fighting for the vacant WBC heavyweight title. The WBC plans on having two separate eliminator bouts to line up a couple of mandatory challengers. Chisora, #6 WBC, could find himself facing someone like #5 WBC Mike Perez, if Chisora agrees to take part in the eliminator. If not, then I guess he’ll be waiting a long, long time for a title shot against the WBC champion because I honestly don’t think the Arreola-Stiverne winner will just give Chisora a title shot without him having worked himself into a mandatory position.
