WelshDevilRob
Re: Talking Andre Ward, David Haye, Larry Holmes, David Price and more Amazing to win the Sky comp and meet Larry Holmes. Great wrap-up on the week's main news.
LondonRingRules
Re: Talking Andre Ward, David Haye, Larry Holmes, David Price and more Ward is a brilliant fighter but is the victim of his own ability. He has run out of opponents at his own weight, having easily dispatched his closest rival Carl Froch in December 2011. © Ringnews24 Copyright Notice http://ringnews24.com/index.php/component/k2/item/26-ringnews24-copyright-notice by Rachel Aylett More... --- Just wanted to point out to Rachel that he did not "easily dispatch" Froch, an implication of language that he was easily knocked out or out pointed. The scores were 115-113 x 2 and 118-110 and Ward was the one who clearly ran out of steam the last round and likely wouldn't make the old 15 round championship rounds. A single point swing on the two 115-113 scores and we have a majority draw. Given that the supersix was an international tourney where every fighter that was undefeated took a loss in another country, yet some how Ward managed to not only stay in Cali where he lives, but even postponed the Abraham bout twice on short notice so he could get his training just so perfect. It's fair to say he would not be able to win the same fight in England or in Canada, which is where he refused to fight Froch for the rematch and completely refused Bute in any country. Bute was undefeated and ranked higher than Ward who hadn't yet cracked p4p list. Yeah, so he finally had to leave Cali for MSG where Froch fans still outnumbered Ward fans. Something missing from his ability which may explain why he's a victim of "who cares." Good fighter with a popcorn career at home compared to his major competitors who were better in their day than he is now. He makes 2-3x more purse fighting Froch in England, but he won't risk it because he cares about his zero rather than any risk.
