Gateshead’s Rob Ismay targets Frank Buglioni

Gateshead’s Rob Ismay makes a welcome return to the ring on December 7 as part of the undercard to Martin Ward’s Commonwealth bantamweight title challenge against Gabriel Odoi Laryea. The show at Newcastle’s Centre for Sport is the inaugural event for Ringstar Promotions, the recently-established promotional company founded by former pro Mark Clauzel, and undefeated Ismay is delighted to be in at the start.“It’s so refreshing to have a fighter, and not just a past fighter who’s been retired for 10 years but someone who’s just finished, as a promoter,” said Ismay of Clauzel, who retired this year at 6-0 on medical grounds.* “He knows exactly what we’re going through.* People don’t realise how important things like day before weigh-ins are; it’s my first and I’m looking forward to that more than anything!* He’s pulling all the stops out, with the ring walks and lights, and it’s going to be a great show.* I can’t wait.”
