Professional boxers accept these risks while striving to achieve their dreams of becoming a World Champion. Undefeated boxing prospect “Cool” Mike Carracela cruised through his first two professional bouts unharmed, winning both by unanimous decision, including his 2nd victory as part of the very first Hollywood Fight Night show at the Florentine Gardens on July 12, 2012. While becoming a decorated amateur and even a sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather, the slick southpaw from Burbank was also working as a demolition laborer to help pay his bills and support his pregnant fiancee. Three months ago, while demolishing piers of the Gerald Desmond Bridge in Long Beach, Mike Carracela’s dreams of becoming a World Champion boxer were cut short when he was electrocuted by an over hanging 13,000 volt power line. Leaving him badly burned and with severe nerve damage to his left arm, Mike Carracela was hospitalized for two months and is unable to work.
